He returned a kick for a touchdown in the first game I can remember being at, so that's always made him a favorite of mine.
My All-Time Favorite New York Jets Player is ____________________ 1. John Neidert #63 2. Curtis Martin #28
I forget, was that your father or grandfather? You should make a thread about some of his playing day stories. That would be a great read!
He is my father. When I went to the 40th Reunion weekend of the Super Bowl team, I heard some great stories from there playing days and there off the field get togethers. He always said he enjoyed playing the AFL better than he did in the NFL with the Bears.
My all time favorite player is Joe Willie Namath Next is Emerson Boozer Next is Matt Snell Next is Don Maynard Next is George Sauer Next is Big Jawn Elliot Next is Johnny Sample Actually the entire 1968 team are all my personal favorites because they were WORLD CHAMPIONs of the entire football world
For me it's Klecko hands down. No smack talking. Pro bowl at 3 different positions. He was a fuggin mauler and a class act. Followed by: Curtis Martin, Al Toon and Ronnie Lott (I know, i know...but he cut his finger off to play!!)
THE NYJs LAST WON THE SB ON 01/12/69 WHICH IS NOW OVER 41 YEARS AGO OR TO SAY IT ANOTHER WAY IT IS NOW BEEN OVER 14,965 DAYS SINCE WE LAST WERE WORLD CHAMPs OF THE FB WORLD. RR IS 0-1 IN BRINGING THE VLT TO US WOODY IS NOW 0-10 IN BRINGING A NYJ CHAMPIONSHIP TO THE NY/NJ/CT METRO AREA.
this is partially a cop out answer I admit, but he is the reason I became a Jets fan, he's the only player who's jersey (replica) I've ever owned and I idolized him as a young teen, Joe Willie Namath. Close second and third Don Maynard and John Riggins, 4th probably Richard Caster.
