who the hell says they are starting over? the team has a bunch of talent but had a shitty coach. you don't get rid of your good players just because you think the coach is the problem. dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb, dumb.
I agree with what you said, I drew that conclusion originally to. The problem for them though is that the Bucs are not a quick fix and having Revis on the roster is only going to hold them down. They wont take a cap hit if they did cut him. A restructure is more realistic but this will depend a lot on the GM and a lot on how the Glazers feel about having Revis on the roster.
Also, Revis doesn't like it when you ask him to restructure. IMO, he would much rather go on the open-market than take a pay cut.
Still the best CB in the league. It's tough allocating so much money to one position though, especially if it's not the QB.
Right. Ask him to restructure and you won't see him around until you pay his ransom. Good luck with that tampa.
Ummm...no... We do not need the locker room headache unless he is willing to come back for around $7 - $8 mil/per. This year proved that it was part scheme/part his talent that makes him what he is. He was definitely NOT a world beater this year. Injury or no injury....
I am not a Revis fan either. but I don't think the Bucs are starting over. they have good players that can turn around that team with a good coach, which is why a new GM isn't going to just blow it all up.
As big of a Revis fan as I was sure I wish he never left and we didn't trade him but we did , its ancient history at this point, he isn't coming back under any circumstances. Now all I have to do is change my username
There is no reason for Revis to restructure. Either they pay him or he gets to test the open market as a free agent. Teams don't have to give up anything for him so I can see there being a lot of interest. Maybe he won't get 16mil/year, but no doubt he will get a guaranteed contract this time.
The Phins were taking bows after they beat the Patsies. Followed it up by losing to the Bills and Jets. LMAO
I'd love to see him back with the Jets for 10M per, I'm sure that he's still better than Cro. As others have mentioned though, he's going to go somewhere and get paid more than that. Probably to whichever team thinks they're one CB away.
 My username is still after Leon Washington. I was always too lazy to change it and haven't felt the need to do so since it's been so long that he's been gone.
Our pass defense was terrible, we have the cap room so if Revis were available I would take a run at him. With the Jets front 7 and a Revis, Cro, Milliner (hopefully improving) DB corps the defense would be extremely formidable. If Revis came back by week 3 all would be forgiven by Jets fans. I would go as high as 10-12 mil a year for him. Watching our secondary you forget how shut down Revis was, didn't matter how big of a name the receiver was, Revis shut him down.
If they somehow magically got Revis back for $10mm/year I think Cro would be the odd man out. The Jets can save $9.5mm against the cap by cutting him so it would be a no brainer to make that swap if they could.
Actually, Revis LOVES to restructure. He'll agree to take majority of the money upfront and play for less in the later years of his contract. However, once those later years are ready to kick in, it's holdout time.
