gee revis, did you checkout his rules and schemes before you took the $ or was it just grab the cash and worry about the other things later?
Every time i hear anything about Revis it literally makes me sick that he isn't here any more. Its so fucking sad man...
His agents would do a better job by telling him to shut up. I can't see any other team giving him more than 16 million. I am happy his team his 0-2, and no ones gives a shit that he's playing anymore.
well tampa got a sick secondary and still came out 0-2 kinda expected more, i do think his place would be with us still a fan of his gameplay and i think he would acept a pay cut if we promoted more his endorsements outside of the jets and stuff. Cant wait to see the football life tomorow of him.
Revis will be on the Giants or Pats before we know it, claiming he wants to play for a real winner, etc
multiple reports out of Tampa: Revis upset with with the defensive schemes AND with the amount of discipline being handed down by Schiano and his staff It's all good Darrelle, remember, you got paid!
Yep, definitely not a circus like our franchise, that's for sure. I mean the proof is there. They had a hard time getting everybody together for the family/team photo. Now that's some family shit.
PFT: Revis not happy in Tampa Since Revis is a 'fresh wound' here on TGG and the Jets are still carrying some dead cap money of his, I decided to put this little blurb here, Revis is not at all happy with the coaching staff. I wonder if he's homesick for some good Rex Ryan home cooked meals. Bucs players not happy with Schiano Posted by Mike Florio on September 16, 2013, 7:55 PM EDT Schiano AP Last week, the Buccaneers deftly were able to sidestep the fallout of an ugly loss to the Jets by eventually shining a spotlight on quarterback Josh Freeman. This week, it could be a little trickier. While it’s clear that players question the commitment and leadership of Freeman, players also question the tactics and methods of coach Greg Schiano. As one league source recently told PFT, multiple veteran players simply don’t like Schiano’s ways. Recently, FOX Sports reported (via the New York Post) that cornerback Darrelle Revis isn’t happy with Schiano’s “strict” nature. It’s hardly a new development. We reported last December that one veteran player wanted to know when these coaches would be sent back to college. On Monday, Pewter Report chronicled the issues that have plagued a team that has now gone 1-7 over its last eight games. Meanwhile, the Cold War between Schiano and Freeman continues. After Sunday’s loss, Schiano assumed blame for the loss while take a passive-aggressive jab at the man who seems to be not long for the job of starting quarterback. “I’m going to have to look at the tape to tell you what’s going on, because it isn’t just the quarterback. It, squarely, is on me,” Schiano said. He didn’t say it’s not quarterback. He said it isn’t just the quarterback, which means that to a certain extent it is the quarterback. The reality is that coaches who win can get away with being hard-nosed disciplinarians. Absent pelts on the wall, it won’t work. While the Bucs showed some promise last season, it’s all moving in the wrong direction — and Schiano could be moving in the direction out of Tampa after this season, unless things turn around quickly.
What a trainwreck. The Bucs have a roster that has a 10+ win potential, but a HC who couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag. Looks like we can soon add Schiano to the list of coaches who have failed to make the jump from college to the pros.
How awesome would this be: Revis plays in and out all season while his knee heals. He realizes he needs Rex back to finish his career on the right foot. The Jets have a good year and have a GREAT offensive draft while building around Geno Smith. The defense becomes top 5 again and Revis decides he wants to come back for a reasonable amount. Revis returns and sits on the other side of Cromartie with an already top 5 defense. Team is younger, faster, more talented, and has the veteran leadership of a guy like Revis. God I WISH this would happen!!
Well, unless something significant changes, I can't see Revis taking less money for anything. His entire career so far has been about maximizing his payday (with good reason). The reason he's not on the team anymore is because of that, which is a shame. I would have loved to see a result where we kept Revis somehow.
