We will agree to disagree. Very few get a second chance so we really never know. Ones that did Steve Young, Kurt Warner, Geno Smith, Rich Gannon have done ok. Even Jamis played better in his second chance. Chances are QBs fail well since lost QBs fail.
you really gonna state the few exceptions and never mind tyhe dozens of those who just werent good? ok then. peace be with you.
Most Qbs blow and most young Qbs do not get a second chance. The number will always be skewed. Is it because they suck or did not get a chance to develop? Just in our division it Josh and Tua three plus years to develop. Tannehill sucked before going to Tennessee. To give up on young Qbs after 2 years is very short-sighted. That is the nature of the beast in today's NFL although a majority of the starting Qbs did not start as rookies.
In Miami, Tannehill was significantly better than any Jets QB since a healthy Pennington (and I guess pre-injury Favre and that one good Fitz season). He never sucked.
These kids are thrown into the fire and are expected to turn franchises around at the snap of the finger. Most of the time these kids are going to awful organizations where the GM and HC will be done within 3 years if they don't pan out.
anyway... QBs get hyped EVERY year, cos thats the news/draft cycle. pros who get paid to evaluate dont get it right most of the time.
