What planet are you living on ?...Things have changed rapidly in the last 3 weeks. What looked like a light schedule at first doesn't seem so easy any longer. At this point the only 2 games on the schedule that I feel semi-confident putting in the "W" column are KC and StL. I doubt the Pats will make the same mistakes that they made against Miami, if anything they will make the necessary adjustments. The Bengals nearly beat the Giants, Buffalo and Oakland was a dogfight, we have to face resurgent teams in the Titans, Cards, 49ers, and Broncos not to mention that we were one play away from a loss to the Fins. If Jenkins is not healthy (And tonight proved that he is the anchor of the defense) and our offense doesn't finally gel, this is going to be a far worse season than we all anticipated.
They did lose because of 3 TO's, onside kick. Along with many other things IMO. It doesn't mean that is contradictory. Brett Favre has one clear pick that was noooooooo question his fault. The other is questionable and I don't care how many times you hit the rewind button on it, it is still questionable. Did Brett Favre fumble the ball to complete the hat trick? Oh, no, that was, Jones. Right.. The onside kick is Mangini's fault? Are you kidding me? Who is to say Westhoff didn't call that play or at least had a heavy implication for it? If that play works, how many are praising that call? Even if Mangini did call that play.. You can't win with Jets fans. Just last week everyone was calling Mangini a pussy and that he needed to grow a pair. So he calls this game pretty aggressive and still nobody is happy. It is crazy. If he wants to be optimistic, then let him. It isn't hurting anything. Making bold predections are not always a bad thing, it allows you to keep enjoying something you love with passion. Instead of being pessimistic all the time and crying about how bad things are. Try conviencing yourself that the sky isn't really falling on you. Believe it or not.. Not everyone thinks the absolute worst of things in life, even when they appear bad, you can always lean on hope. It is ok, the concept is hard for you, I get it. Maybe you could learn something from, RobA. Just a thought though. That is a nice attempt at getting me angry with your OSU reference there, it didn't work and it was almost clever. Keep at it though, you're destined to say something productive eventually.
Sorry, but if you blame THIS loss on a few turnovers and such you didn't watch the game... I am not bothered at all by the loss. I said before the game and maintain my position that as long as the Jets played well during this game, there'd be nothing to worry about. But this was a Titanic adventure. I'm not throwing in the towel, I still think the Jets can contend in the AFC, but this was a bad loss and the Jets have a lot of problems. If they can't beat the Cards next week in New Jersey, and they can't win at LEAST 2 of 3 after the bye week? The "Mangenius" needs to transfer to a new school. And I bet most Jets fans aren't as reasonable as me.
because there isn't a team in the NFL that the decision for an onside kick isn't made by the head coach. the ST coach can certainly suggest it, and even attempt to convince the coach to run it, but at the end of the day, it is the coach's decision.
Have you ... you know, ever watched a Green Bay Packer gaem the last 16 years? Not even one of the Superbowls, or the 4 championship games, or the 20+ playoff games? I ask because if you have, you would know that this is just the way Favre throws the ball. Many of the 250 balls he has thrown for touchdowns were "doomed when they left his hand" according to you. It looks awful, everyone agrees, but for whatever reason it works for him (and pretty much only for him).
While I completely agree with the topic. In all fairness I dont like the idea of only beating the lesser teams. We went through that 2 years ago. I want to beat an elite team and feel like if we make the playoffs we will actually have a chance.
