Yeah, he may have open some eyes in his conversion drills. He is a hybrid player, and were important for him.
Yes, they looked great in the drills as they should have. Both Mayock and Willie McGinnis talked about thier slight frames and that they would need to add 20 pounds of muscle to become every down players in the NFL. McGinnis even brought up Maybin while talking about Mingo, how they had similar frames and combines and that his speed suffered greatly when trying to add/keep on weight. I don't think either of Jordan or Mingo did anything that was unexpected today.
It's mostly full of visits of the EW shrine game and the SR Bowl. Wait till we see the full combine visits.
Getting tired of Te'o coverage. If he turns out to be a good player, he's gonna dominate ESPN next year.
Any shot Te'o falls to round 2 now? ILB is not a prime position, Ogletree seems to have taken the reigns as the top ILB, and Minter is on his heels for the #2 ILB. A lot can change, but having the 3rd ILB fall to the 2nd round is far from unheard of. I want no part of him in round 1, but he becomes a really intriguing option in round 2.
Minter will probably be the 1st ILB taken now. Ogletree's legal issues will drop him, IMO. Teo seems like a Steeler, and I don't think he gets past the Ravens.
Yea I missed that somehow, that's what I get for reading while doing other things. I really think Mingo could excel as a 43 Will. He is just simply too slight to constantly be taking on tackles or pulling guards. I think Ansah had a good day as well. He is not near as fluid as Mingo or Jordan, but did more than well enough to warrant a look as a 34 OLB. McGinnis said he reminds him of himself, a guy tailored to play the Elephant position in the NFL and I agree. Werner and Moore did not have great combines. The rumors of them falling despite production will get a boost today. I was hoping to see a better showing out of Mingo's linemate Montgomery, but he looked very stiff in the drills and not as explosive as I had hoped.
Anyone have any tape on Cornellius Washington - Georgia - OLB? The guy is freaking huge 6'4" 265 lbs, 36 reps, and ran a 4.53. I can't find anything, and only had a .5 sack last year.
This Te'o 40 coverage is pretty stupid. It really doesn't "define" a player, I remember when Bowman ran a "disappointing 40".
He looked like crap in the shuttle drill as well. They had to show 10 freaking times, and skipped coverage of the guy I want to see Cornellius Washington.
I'm right there with you, wanted to see Washington. I was hoping to see some lateral speed from Te'o, he didnt show me that, I do think nerves are factoring in though. But hey, if the kid falls to the second, I'm all in.
I was thinking the same thing about if he drops to the second round, but I don't think he will. Someone in the late first will pick him up if he drops that far.
