^ Thanks for all of the info guys...good shit. I'm probably gonna stop by a shoe store some time this evening - I'll take a look at all of these.
Saucony Men's ProGrid Ride 3. About $100. http://www.saucony.com/store/SiteCo...0074-1*M090&productId=4-104870&catId=cat10004 Best running sneakers I've ever owned. You don't have to spend over $100 if you're not training for a marathon.
Mr. E....If you like the Reebok Zig, I just discovered you can go online, and customize a pair yourself. Thinking on getting a nasty pair of Black ones with Jets Green accents..
One of my buddies that does triathlons told me to get some Saucony Kinvara's. ...I plan on trying on a ton of different brands before I spend any money.
Asics are great. You also might want to get some orthotics for throughout the day when you have to wear those dress shoes. EDIT: not fitted ones, just the $10-20 ones you can buy at any sports store.
As you should. Some running stores let you run outside in the sneakers you're trying on. I suggest you pick a few Sauconys and Asics, and see which ones work for you. You're better off going to a running store too, as they'll have a wider range of options.
Do you all really like Asics? I've owned one pair in my life and my wife currently has a pair. I only liked mine because they were the first pair of all-blue sneakers I was ever able to find as a kid, and my wife's were falling apart after a month. And she didn't use them for anything but walking. I wear Sketchers sneakers these days, but I don't run. The only running I do is playing softball and I just wear cleats for that. If I were going to run though, I'd buy a pair of Nikes.
I like my brand new pair of Asics like I like my women.......nice n' comfortable, but not quite broken in yet.
Started this diet/way of thinking about a month ago . Im up too 9 pounds lost, gained about 3 pounds of muscle working out. Really appreciate all this info Alio and others.
I may be teh 1st person in history who lost weight on a cruise.... with 14 flights of stairs and long waits for the elevator I just went up and down the stairs everyday. Ate light and drank lots of water. What I did find out is that nothing in the Caribbean is made with HFCS... all cane sugar.
hahahaa that's a hell of an achievement , ive been cruises with my family and everyone gained at the least something due to the abundance of food.
These last three trips to Cali have done me in. Having a pregnant wifey at home isn't helping either. I haven't lost a pound but I haven't gained a pound either so I'm cool for now.
Damn congrats bro thats a real achievement. Im startin insanity prolly on monday Im hoping to drop a few and get a stronger core from it. I only have 2 days circled for drinking in the 2 months starting monday.
Awesome news guys! Keep it up! I've fallen off the wagon myself. I stopped back around late-spring/early-summer and just never got back into it. I really don't have any excuse except I've been up late every night which leaves me lazy in the morning. I hate it and I really have to get myself re-motivated. Fortunately I haven't gained a lot of weight back, but I have lost my strength gains, and that sucks. I threw out my back last night, which tells me I really need to get my ass back to training.
Figured Id give this thread a bump especially with the summer coming soon and ppl working on their fitness. Im doing insanity now and while Im eating mostly healthy after this weekend(2 parties) im gonna be really going hardcore with it. Ill be on the ultimate weight loss diet to get back inn shape. **Heres where I need advice**: I got a physical in late May/early June which I am training for. I took a practice physical the other day where they told us we need to complete 29 continuous pushups. I only completed 18 of those pushups (my weakness has always been pushups since Im 6'6 and I have long ass arms). My goal isnt 29 but to get around 35 in a row so I can get past 29 comfortably and with ease. Obviously Ive been doing insanity which has helped my overall fitness so far and is helping me get into shape. I need to start doing pushups to help me with the physical. I kno losing weight will help so therefore Im planning on dropping some lbs. Im 244 now but I kno with less weight its easier to do pushups so Im hoping in late May early June I can be around 230 or so to help me pass. The question I have is should I do pushups every day or every other day in order to get that number up? I hear from some people that I can do it every day since I am not weight training rite now but others say I should give my body a day off to recover. I plan on throughout the day just dropping down and doing as many pushups as I can while doing daily tasks at home. Like if Im watching the Rangers or knicks, doing pushups every commercial break. I was wondering if u guys say every day or every other day would be better for me? I gotta get those numbers up in order to pass the physical and therefore I figured Id ask u guys cuz u mite kno. Thank u and wish me luck guys.
