Have you tried using a 1-4-0 rhythm? (one up i.e explosive...4 down exhaling...zero rest?) 5x5 sets... also...sometimes ifyour biceps are lagging it's your forearms, and the reverse thats holding you back...
I don't know enough to comment on that. I think i eat well but I really don't know my total calories or anything like that. One think I have heard is that you should try to keep it to like 1200 calories per day if you want to lower your body fat. Obviously, you have to burn more than you eat to make it work. Also, if you do cardio, it's better to keep your heart rate under 140....you probably know this....it's all about being anaerobic or whatever....it worked for me back in the spring/summer. It's hard to keep any of this up though because you want to like what you eat. When I have tried to cut, I really limit what I eat and I cannot say it is fun but I also don't take the time to learn what is healthy and actually have a variety of stuff so I stick to the same old boring things. Anyway.....you need to talk to a nutritionist or something because I don't think the average joe is going to be able to give you any real feedback. Did you post in the right forum at bb.com?
Yeah, they said sounds good, give it a try and post my results. My personal trainer says I have to get my ratio to 45% Protein 20% fat 35% Carbs Also, 1200 calories a day is like a woman's diet Me, alone, just doing what I do everyday burns 3,500 calories and I'm in the moderately active category. So if I had 1,200 cals, I'd die. You just need a 500 calorie/day deficit for the week. That way each day, with dieting a lone, you lose 1 pound a week (1 LB. = 3,500 calories at 500 cals/dayx7). Cutting/Bulking is a lifestyle change...you need motivation at every turn especially when your co-workers eat like shit and bring in baked goods and candy and all sorts of bullshit all the time. To the guy benching 455 incline, that's extreme. I got 315 x 2 on the flat bench. I rep out 225, but 455 incline is insane. Brute strength, I'd love to see the video.
Nice sight. Good stuff on nutrition. Only thing is, my girl friend makes fun of me when were grabbing lunch today and I have a turkey sandwhich, salad and a diet doctor pepper and shes crushing a slice of pizza and a large coke. Keeps that booty nice and plump tho:beer:
Learn to Cook. Buy some Tupperware. Watch Food Network for a couple weeks, and you will learn enough to cook better tasting food than 90% of most people. (EVOO,Salt,Pepper, Fresh herbs covers 75% of it) I buy a couple trays of Chicken breasts every weekend, and then cook 3 or 4 at a time, making some variety of sauce.... Thats your protein baseline (this time of year I generally go Lo carb...)...add in some pasta, rice or salad, and your good to go...(plus whatever you eat for breakfast obviously..)
I've been a follower of that site for years...They're also my first choice for supplements... Their lo-carb protein is excellent..
Thanks Hobbes. I had planned on hitting my goal back in January but I can't seem to get past 425 (PR is 435). At this rate I could see April, but I'd rather not specify a time and rather just let my body work its way there. I haven't heard of t-mag... unless you're referring to T-nation? Then yeah, they have a neat site. Nowadays I find myself totally enamored with Westside though... I'm in the process of adopting some of their methodologies and I'm really excited to see them pay their dividends. Looking to invest in a solid pair of chains and bands right now.
Don't buy Tupperware!!!!!!! I was trying to help out a co-worker and I bought some of her Tupperware. OMG!!!!!! The price was worse than horrendous. Then they slap on a huge shipping fee & taxes. I was dumbfounded. PLUS, I can never make those lids work right. The Walmart/Target, etc. brands are a million times better AND less expensive. I love the chicken breast idea. I buy a bag of them & cook them in bar-b-que sauce. When I heat them up for lunch at work, everyone loves the smell of them cooking in the micro. YUM, big time.
I strained my calf while snowboarding last weekend. It made me realize how out of shape I am, and once my leg is healed, I want to start running again. I'd like to not have reached my athletic peak at 17.
I'll be 39 in a month, and I just completed a 16 mile hike with a 2400' net elevation gain over 4 miles to start, then 9 peaks before heading back down. And that was just the first day. Went hiking again the next day, and every day that week. So believe me when I tell you, you don't have anything to worry about. Hell, I'm in much better shape today than I was before I turned 30. BTW, part of the ridge I hiked that day is in my sig.
Pork Schnitzel, fried potatoes and cheese garlic bread. That's part of the diet right? What if I walk 2 blocks to the store for a bag of the new Doritos?
Does anyone have an effective way to burn off stomach fat fast? I obviously have been drinking way too much and my stomach doesnt fit the rest of my body. Im pretty fit, I take care of my body well, but I have never really worked out my stomach because I never had the need to. Now I have some decent pudge due to the sauce, so can anyone help me out?
I was not endorsing the brand, just plastic food carrying containers.. If you like spicy take the bbq..a little evoo, some pepper and some Red pepper Flakes (like you put on Pizza) and boil the sauce down (reduction)....
