I have a problem with all of the voting. the fan voting, the player voting, AND the manager voting.

like the NFL. serious problem there, although the Pro Bowl is pretty much meaningless.

I also agree that the "every team must have a player" rule is stupid. The Devil Rays have like eight fans, and probably none of them watch the All Star game anyway.

not bad, except Renteria and Cano do not deserve to go. Throw away the pinstriped glasses. There's clear bias there, with 4 Yankee votes and zero Met and Red Sox votes. That's why this thread made things worse.

Also, Maggs deserves to go ahead of ex-Yankee steroid-abuser teammate Gary Sheffield.

Steroids aside, Sheffield is as deserving an all star starter as any. Just look at the difference he's made in that lineup. He's the reason why Ordonez is having the year he's having.

I got these picks by the tried and true method of looking at stats without names. Funny that I have neither Pudge nor Posada.

Can you please elaborate on this Logic?

Even If a Player is having a Great year, deserves to be there and has a Big lead you DON'T Vote for them?

Do you Vote for someone else or Leave it Blank?

if I know someone is going to win the balloting anyway, I try to get another player recognition by attempting to boost their final position in the voting.

If a player has a 1 million vote lead on the runner-up, there's absolutely no point. And I never leave it blank. I just vote for another deserving guy who isn't getting votes.
