While this isn't outside the realm of possibilty, odds are that he has a very legit reason for not participating... personal issues, family health issue, etc. This guy Florio says that Ainge has been "skipping out on voluntary workouts." All I'm saying is, maybe he's misinformed and that the Jets have given Ainge permission to be absent. Otherwise, it just makes no sense for somebody to throw away what little NFL career he has established for himself to date. Doing this on purpose would almost surely black list himself and diminish his chances of ever starting for the Jets or any other team in the NFL.
Relax, this guy missing camp is hardly newsworthy. He's third on the depth chart, and if we draft someone it wouldn't surprise me if he falls to 4th.
Good riddance...Now we can potentially bring in a veteran QB. Ainge was the definition of a project coming into the NFL. Had a very inconsistent career in college. Won't miss him at all.
Holy christ, tough crowd. It's VOLUNTARY workouts guys. He's not holding out. There's probably a perfectly reasonable explanation for him not showing. Can we wait for more details before we burn the man at the stake?
Here is my conspiracy theory, combining this thread with the Quinn poll thread. The Jets have asked Ainge to stay away from the workouts since they will be trading him to the Browns on draft day with the #17 pick for Brady Quinn.
I would love to see the scramble that goes on with this board if they publicized just how many of peoples' favorite Jets have used steroids and HGH in the past.
Great point, he may have some serious personal family issues going on right now. Which if true, some of these posts will look ridiculous.
I'm sure he has a reason and it obviously isn't any kind of holdout, but at the same time any prior commitment he has would have to be pretty serious to excuse his absence, considering the position he's in. Assuming he doesn't have his head up his ass, he won't just be cut free and to think that he will or that he should is just stupid. Doesn't matter if he's 3rd on the depth chart right now, keeping Ainge is smarter than drafting someone.
He may be hanging in Vegas with a very hot babe having a good time. If he comes into camp and lights it up nobody is going to care.
A vintage Brooks Bollinger line... What was the name of the post that was a Brooks apologist again? (I think he had Bollinger in his name.)
