I'm glad, he is a tallents player who still hasn't matched his draft status. Under Rex he could eventually be a nickle or even staring CB. Not to mention we got him cheap.
http://www.talk-sports.net/nfl/sucks.aspx/Ahmad_Carroll Haha, this cracked me up. 'Ahmad Carroll Sucks Forum'. "Does he suck? Please tell us why." No matter that it's blank.
If Wallace Wright and Carroll can play ST, so that Brad Smith can take a hike, I'm all for it. *I was so sick of Manmoron when he staunchly refused to give Clowney a shot because he had to have Brad Smith and Wallace Wright on the roster.*
Do you watch him on special teams? some people have no clue. Hes another Wallace Wright and can play corner in an emergancy.
The ST squad this season is gonna be fucking sick. Like someone said, Smith, Wright, Izzo and Carroll are gonna make the Jets have the best ST in the league. If our pass D improves from last year and our run D is about the same, then that could be a lethal combination. No offense can screw up so badly that this team won't be able to win when the O has that kind of field position.
You people act like the ability to play well on ST is hard to come by. If a corner cannot sprint down the field and make an open field tackle, then he probably shouldn't have even made the roster in the first place.
Lets hope Rex Ryan keeps his nose out of Westhoffs special teams unlike Mangini who found a way to screw that up too.
Apparently you don't think special teams is an important aspect of football. I guess I can see your point, it's only 1/3 of the game . . .
LOL at all the ridiculous Mangini bashing on this board. People make it sound like the guy was Rich Kotite. And he gets blamed for all bad things that have happened in the distant past, are happening now, or will happen in the near future. He even gets blamed for problems that don't exist.
Special teams is more like 1/10 of the game by time. That is why special teamers don't get $50 million contracts and guys with $50 million contracts don't play special teams.
WooHoo... Another great signing. I love Carrol... he hits like Eric Smith. Great depth across the board too. Man, Tanny is rockin'.
Jets re-sign CB Carroll for special teams, secondary help Associated Press FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- The New York Jets have re-signed cornerback and special-teams standout Ahmad Carroll to undisclosed terms. Carroll tied Wallace Wright for first on the Jets with 26 special-teams tackles last season. A former first-round draft pick by the Green Bay Packers in 2004, Carroll also provides depth in the secondary. The Jets also officially announced the signings of defensive end Marques Douglas and defensive tackle Howard Green after agreeing to terms late last week. Douglas had 36 tackles last season while playing with the Baltimore Ravens in new Jets coach Rex Ryan's defense. Green likely will serve as a backup to nose tackle Kris Jenkins after recording one sack and 21 tackles in 13 games with the Seattle Seahawks last season.
