Yup, that's the way I see it. The Ravens and Steelers were a tossup for me. It really boils down to: will Jackson stay health and how far has Pickett come for the Squeelers.

Wow - So far I'm the one and only voter for Denver!

They were in a lot of close games last year even with the injuries, trash coaching and an abysmal offense. Payton just has to have the team fit and professional and Wilson play to an average level for them to be thereabouts.

Did I miss the part where Wilson absolutely sucked, could even see open receivers, was that all on Hackett or may be, may be Wilson only fits one role, first read, no, then run. We shall see. Wilson does not convince me at all.

Yeah I don't know what Jet fan is being fooled by this. I know you probably see what I see and other see by the eye test. Terrible decision maker and someone who just is so far off from being where he needs to be that it's never gonna happen. You ever have a coworker new hire and immediately know its not gonna work out even if you sat down with them for a month? He doesn't translate to the NFL, he got here by playing like Mahomes in college against lesser defenses and his athleticism and physical traits aren't good enough to pull it off here.

It's night and day when you saw someone like Mike White play who went through all of his progressions quickly. The constant is that in past years the WRs failed to create separation. The difference is that Mike White went through his progressions, found nothing open, and checked down. Zach Wilson, instead, decided to throw INTs.

I agree that Wilson was almost if not equal to Zach levels of awful.

My reasoning on this matter is that Russ wanted to be Brady/Manning and there was no adult or other pressure in that organisation to tell him "Son - that ain't you. You're Russel Wilson so be the best version of Russel Wilson you can".

I think with his legacy/HOF entry now in the air and a coach who has more gravitas and frankly buy-in from the management - He'll be told to do the things that made him effective, the schemes will be drawn up to help him play that way and IF he plays a Russel Wilson style of QB to an average level, then that should probably be enough.

EDIT: My prediction for them is WC spot only and even then I think it'll come down to common record between them and the the AFC East contenders.
