This prediction is based on Sam Darnold making a jump in year 2. It's not unreasonable to think he'll get to 4,000 yards and 25+ tds. That would a jump similar to what Sanchez did in year 2.

    Patriots 11-5
    Jets 9-7
    Bills 6-10
    Dolphins 4-12

    Bills 11 and 5
Jets 10 and 6 Wild card (No playoffs Mac should face a firing squad, I expect 10 wins)
    Pats 8 and 8
    Fish 4 and 12

I like predictions showing the wheels falling of the Patriots machine. I do wonder why people think it’ll be this season though.

Sanchez must be doing crack with what he saved from football. There's NO way the Jets go 13-3 this season.

I refuse to answer on the grounds I may incriminate myself. Oh, fine, but I'm almost always wildly wrong:

    1. Cheats 11-5
    2. Jets 10-6
    3. Bills 7-9
    4. Miami 5-11

What always makes me laugh is that every year people say the Cheats are on the way out because their defense sucks. Zzzzzzt! Doesn't happen. The Cheats are on the way out because Tom Cheat is old. Zzzzzzt! Doesn't happen. All I hope for is that some wisenheimer manages to sneak in a witty sign about Bob Kraft into Cheatsette Stadium and it makes it to the TV screen. Oh, and followed up by Jim Nantz looking like he just got zapped by a stun gun. I hate that ass kisser. He's the worst.

Brady will be 42 years old by the season opener. Dude will fall apart at some point. nobody plays forever. He loses his best receiving target and defensively they lost their best pass rusher.

Unfortunately I feel we have too many new players, new starters, new schemes, new coaching staff, etc, to start out 'strong'. Especially with the watered down training camps that favor established teams.

Our 2019 Jets, to me, are definitely a '2nd half of the season' team. I wish our bye week was week 8.

We could be looking at 2-6 the first half while our team jells, 6-2 the second half giving plenty of optimism to the 2020 season.

But IF the team starts to click a game or two sooner, we could eek out 9-7 and possibly win a tiebreaker for 6th seed.

Problem is the Pats have adjusted to this. Last year they were more run oriented with Sony Michel. Brady can still make the short, quick throws but he wasn't as consistent on the long throws. Arm strength is getting weaker and he wasn't as accurate. It's not like the days when they had Moss and it was bombs away. The Pats philosophy now is run the ball, play D which they do well especially when it gets later in the year, and let Brady make the short, quick throws which he is still very good at. NE will win the division again as neither Moe, Larry, or Curley will challenge them. Its why the Pats get to the AFC championship almost every season. The play in a cupcake division.

  15. Patriots 11-5( And looking vulnerable)
    Jets 8-8
    Bills 7-9
    Dolphins 4-12

Forget the cheats for a second. For the first time in many many years I feel like the rest of the AFC east finally "gets it". Bills & Jets look much improved w. plenty of youth & long term Direction.Dolphins look lousy on paper but seem to have a decent plan in place not much different than Buffalo & Jets. Not sure about Flores but we'll see..

They drafted the best WR in this draft. Big strong and fast enough.

The Patriots tend to do the opposite of what other teams do. Also, they have not been too good at drafting receivers.

The Patriots normally go for small quick receivers. It looks like this year they are looking for big tall receivers. This may be due to the fact that pass interference is now being reviewed.

Throw the ball up to a tall receiver and if the defender makes contact, penalty! Funny thing is the league as a whole is looking for small quick receivers for the slot receiver position.

Bigger receivers also help in run blocking which is a good way to protect an aging QB.

On defense, this year Belichick's son will be more involved and you know Bill does not want to set up his son for failure. They are stocking up on LBs that can cover TEs and backs, example Jamie Collins. They still have a good secondary and their ability to put pressure on the QB and run stopping is questionable.

They may make the AFC Finals, but I can't see them going any further. Then again I have underestimated the Pats in the past.

Wow, that would be a great turn around!

I do see the Jets improving, maybe 10-6 is a possibility. Anything more seems unrealistic, but if you are right, you deserve a lot of credit for your prediction.
