It should be the goal but until Brady retires NE is built for reg season success and we have very little chance to win the division.

Only 2 6 seeds(both in recent years) but many WC teams have won it, much moreso than the old ays when a 1 or 2 seed was winning the SB every year.

GB, NYG, Pit, Bal have all won SBs as WC teams since the turn of the Century and 3 of them won 4 road games to win it all.

Wildcard is definitely not the long shot like it used to be. I'd love a first round bye but at the same time a lot of teams seem to play better without taking that week off. Helps to get some momentum going. Still itd be nice to have a week off to get everyone healthy and ready.

It's crazy how many teams w/ byes have lost. In the last decade the top 4 seeds have all advanced only 2 times(2002 & 2004). The other years:

    2003: SL & KC lost
    2005: Chi & Indy lost
    2006: Bal & SD lost
    2007: Ind & Dal lost
2008: NYG, Car & Ten lost
    2009: SD lost
    2010: NE & Atl lost
    2011: GB lost

Since 2005 top seeds(w/ byes) are just 15-13 in the div rd. It's almost a 50/50 shot
