Overall I totally agree. Hire the FO and coaches and then target players, not the other way around. In fairness tho that blueprint should be an organizational thing that transcends the GM and HC, and becomes a common denominator from regime to regime. That’s what makes successful organizations. Our problem here is that we keep letting individuals define the identity and blueprint, and then completely change direction with the next hire. They just did that again with Gase. Considering the Johnson’s are rhubarbs, we need a Football President, or committee, making the strategic decisions, and have the GM and HC each report to that entity.
But the problem is the identity that they're trying to establish is just so bizarre as to what winning franchises do. The Maccagnan strategy was to put together patch work offensive lines with stopgap starters and try to develop sixth round picks into starters two years down the line. And load up the secondary at all costs and use the patch work strategy with edge rushers.
So let the team flail about next year even though there is hard evidence that gase isn’t a good coach? I honestly can’t believe anyone is still supporting this clown. Even Falco came around.
I don’t believe th GM should create the blueprint. Rather we hire people who fit the blueprint of what we want to do as an organization.
Also it is possible to hire a new coach AND get talent. Prove to me that this team is worse talent wise than last year. The talent isn’t good but it’s on par with last year and we couldn’t wait to clean house. This is immeasurably worse and we brought in a guy who was supposed to be an offensive genius. All we heard was that Gase with a real qb was gonna be great. Maybe gase is the issue and not the qb.
I don't think the play calling is as you do. Guys are getting open... What you have is a qb is indecisive at the moment. He's just slinging it. Your over 20 correct? Like legit asking. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
Well over 20. Why? I’m not sure what that has anything to do with it. What do you like about the playcalling? You think it was smart to abandon the run when your qb is sacked 8 times and your OL is awful? You think designing plays short of the sticks is smart football? That’s been his mo for 4 years. This isn’t anything new. Ask any dolphins fan and they could’ve predicted this.
Well then I'm saying you've worked with young adults that age. So remember we're dealing with what's tantamount to a teenager. So he's gonna have these moments..... While I agree Sam looked awful, I also agree that he's still not a bust yet. I don't think coaching would change that. Sent from my SM-N975U using Tapatalk
The talent is better this year than last. Gase is somehow making Bowles look good. Kind of like how W now looks smart and competent in contrast
It would certainly make the news when the London Met Police taser his naked arse. All the protestor was heard to scream was get me some Johnson and Johnson baby lotion my ass is stinging.
You don’t have to have a mob mentality, you just need a couple of fully functional eyes and some common sense.
No secret that I never wanted Gase hired but IF IF IF they should lose to the Dolphins next week then IMO Gase should be asked to clean out his desk and be fired.
Oh I absolutely agree with you! I guess I was speaking of the Jets as currently owned and managed. I've been beating the drum for a Pres. or Football Ops for years since it doesn't look like the Johnsons will ever sell their cash cow - at least a POFO (assuming they allowed him) would provide the football intelligence and planning they sorely lack. In the current system however, failing to have a POFO, I would at least allow Douglas to design a blueprint having come from several teams with good ones.
I basically agree, however if the Johnsons don't hire a POFO, then we're better off allowing Douglas who has deep football experience, to do it at this point.
