From an offensive POV he's probably more of a Mike Leach disciple, which includes Riley and Kingsbury.
Harrell is making $1.2 million per year. I doubt he leaves that, even though his boss is obviously a lame duck coach. I suspect they are in contact with him in advance for his next job when Helton gets fired and he has to look for work
If we hire someone to work with Darnold, what the fuck is that useless dope Loggains gonna do? Throw the red flag full time?
That might be more accurate. It felt like the Johnson's wanted Kingsbury but didn't have the balls to make the move for him. I have a feeling we'll be in for a ton of complaints with Harrell eventually if he ever comes here to run the offense. They throw the ball all over the yard despite having a solid offensive line and highly recruited runningbacks. Slovis did look good though.
I can’t see any scenario in which Gase gives up control of playcalling. Unless he actually starts to mature but...
He won't give up control. I posted early about Riverboat Ron hiring Del Rio as his DC. This let him focus on the whole team. If he gets an decent OC and more talent this could in theory be a great way to go. I just don't see Gase doing it.
you can only hope that one day he wakes up and realizes it. Hopefully it’s within the next year since we’re stuck with him til at least then.
Now that Kingsbury has as NFL season under his belt, I wish we had hired him. I wanted him as nothing more than an OC at this time last year but considering he's been through an NFL season and with a rookie QB, put up an average offense makes me think he could have done some interesting stuff here with Darnold, Bell and Robby. Bell might have actually... lined up at receiver?! Ran outside the tackles?! CAUGHT A SCREEN PASS!?!?!?
At what point did I bring up the success of the Cardinals as a whole? I said the offense, which ranked 16th. The defense ranked almost dead last. Gee, I wonder what dragged them down... I guess if I ran my mouth about how bad Kingsbury was going to be while defending Adam Gase, then watch Kingsbury's offense outperform Gase's, I'd deflect too.
kingsbury's EX girlfriend is super hot though. I'll give him that. great breasticles. Saw on the news she apparently left him for some person named "Vegas Dave." Maybe she wasn't impressed with 5-10-1
Not if they have a lawyer who is breathing. Um ... there's plenty of dispute. Anybody can create a gmail address. I could create "noamjetsfan2020@gmail.com" in about seven seconds ... it doesn't mean it's you. Now, does it make it more likely than not that the account belongs to someone working for the Jets? Probably. But are we going to pretend that Mehta (and every other Jets media member) doesn't know the names of everyone in their PR department? Based on the actual tweets that were made, I think it's reasonable to say there is a 1% chance the twitter account belongs to a member of the PR staff and a 0% chance it belongs to the young girl whose name matches the gmail account. There's no way she was making tweets like "Adam Gase can't implement his offense because of a long list of problems out of his control." Would I believe that Gase went to the lowest person on the PR totem pole and said, "I want an anonymous twitter account. Set one up for me." and then she used her own google account to set it up? Yes, I might believe that. Although, one would assume her own google account would be tied to her own twitter account. And one would also assume that Gase would not go to the person in the office most likely to be Chatty Cathy (a twenty-something female intern) to set up a secret account, but the President of the United States once boned a 20 year old intern in the Oval Office and thought he would be able to keep it a secret ... so I would never underestimate the stupidity of men who have failed their way up. I actually lean towards it being someone else in the Jets organization (not Gase, not this female PR intern), who is fairly knowledgeable about burner accounts, Gase's past history and Mehta's willingness to print anything if he thinks it will stir up shit. And I think that person set up the account, then fed information to Mehta that "rumor around the office is that Gase has this burner account." And now that person is trying to frame Mehta with the "tweet, then delete" move. But I'd also believe about nine other scenarios, too (including it being Mehta or Gase). The point is ... there's plenty of dispute.
They had the 24th ranked passing offense, and beat one team .500 or above. The one team they did beat was the Seahawks with a real dominant 26th ranked defense/27th ranked passing defense. Don't forget Murray elevating their overall offenses production with his running ability. There are far better examples you can use than Kingsbury's below average NFL rookie year. You don't think that Kingsbury's rush to the line, run as many plays as possible offense contributed to the defense being absolutely gassed at all times? Give Chip Kelly a call about gimmicky offenses in the NFL. He had the same issue.
