Michael Bush missed the entire 2007 season with a bad break and has recovered to be a good rotational back. There are others but he's the most obvious example. He's not a great comparison for Leon for a couple of reasons, first he's huge - weighing 240+ and secondly he had his break at 21. I still think Leon is going to be a serviceable to excellent third down back but I guess the mental hurdles are going to be the main problem. We'll see.
Jets coach Rex Ryan stated Friday that the team will "definitely" consider signing free agent OLB Adalius Thomas. "We’ll always listen to anything," said Ryan, also praising the 33-year-old's versatility. "I’m not sure. We’ll see. We’ll definitely consider him." The sides aren't believed to engaged in any contract negotiations yet. http://www.rotoworld.com/content/clubhouse_relatednews.aspx?sport=NFL&majteam=NYJ
Rex also said that Thomas is kind of wasted if a team just uses him at OLB. He excels when you move him around to different positions. This was all said towards the end of Rex's press conference, which you can listen to at nyjets.com
Yeah I'll pass on Thomas now that we have Taylor. We don't need to pick up every dinosaur on the market...
That's what I figured, just forgot he was out there until I saw a story about him this morning. Although I still think he has more to offer than Taylor, but I'm trying to keep my mind open about Taylor since he's now a Jet, and nothing will change that.
That move could definitely be a possibility if Gholston has a horrible training camp. If he gets cut, I wouldn't surprised if Thomas fills that spot.
Funny, I bet if a team called Vinny up today, he'd still probably throw on a uni and be right back. Gotta like that guy.
at this point they should just sign him no one else wants him he wont cost anything more then the minimum he knows the system you can never have too many pass rushers
LOL -Yeah, especially now that Taylor finagled getting his number back. For God's sake Bryan, why did you give up your number for this career Jets hater? I'd take Adalius - a Belichick despiser, over Taylor, who still loves Miami. Taylor wouldn't even say on Mike'D Up last week that he's looking forward to "showing" the Dolphins something when they play each other. But that's just me...
he kinda sucks now, but if he signed for vet minimum, and didnt expect to start I guess I wouldn't have a problem.
