This poster might be right but he is just specualting. Ktagthrope did nto turn down UNC, he has denied any interest so he can keep his team focused but hw many times have we seen coaches deny they are interested in a job only yo leave after the season?

I agree on the Rodriguez motives, that is obviosu b/c coaches never express any interest in other jobs they say no comment or no interest and he didn't do that.

By the way, under Mack Brown the Heels were a top 5 program so obviosuly it's a winnable situation w/ the right coach. comparing Carolina to duke is unfair, a good year for duke is 1-2 wins while the heels were a bowl team just 2 years ago and msised on a bowl by a game last year.

It appears the Heels are closing in on Butch Davis, apparently it's real close but I won't get excited until it's official as I thought we had Roy Williams in 2000 and Frank Beamer a year later only to watch both stay at their schools at the time.

Butch Davis or Paul Johnson probably would be good.

Those are the 2 guys I want most. I think johnson would be a great choice as well.

Interesting how you killed WVU for having Maryland on their schedule. "The best team from either conference" lost to Maryland today. WVU kicked the shit out of the team that beat "the best team from either conference."

I said the way Clemson was playing at the time, they have played awfully the last 2 weeks and I didn't kill WVU for having MD on their sched I killed them for having MD as the toughest game on their sched.

Maryland ranked 19th in BCS standings.

Three Big East teams ranked in top 10 of BCS standings.

MD is not good at all, they are taking advantage of a bad ACC but they wouldn't be ranked if they weren't in the ACC. They have won 5 straight by an average of 2.6 points and this was a tam that struggled w/ William and mary and Mid ten State and beat Florida Int'l by 4.

The BE teams are in the top 10 b/c none of them has played a tough game outside of playing each other. Any halfway decent team would have at worst 1 loss w/ the scheds those teams have played. I think all 3 are good teams but they aren't typical top 10 teams.

When you are dead to rights, you still look to argue.

Maryland wouldn't be ranked if they weren't in the ACC? Yeah, I guess you could say that. Maybe if they were in the SEC they would be ranked or maybe they wouldn't. Maybe if they were in the WAC they would be ranked or maybe they wouldn't. We just don't know either way.

What we do know is they are ranked. I think it is fair to call a ranked team in November a good team.

I won't touch the Big East comment because I have to go to work soon.

Maryland is NOT a good football team, people see their record and they vote for them. They have won 5 in a row by less than 3 per game and they have struggled w/ some bad football teams. I know you want to pump them up since WVU beat them up but MD is NOT a good team and they should not be ranked.

Yep someday Rutgers will have so many fans around here that we'll see moe red than any other color. They will be the Yankees of College football, they'll have a beat reporter from every paper, 5 TV shows, message boards will have more fans than the jets and Giants together. It will be all RU all the time and we'll look back and say we were there when it started, that year they destroyed the unbelievable competition such as beating 1-9 UNC on a blown call, destroying great So. Florida by 2, beating 2-9 illinois, 4-6 Howard, Navy and Mid major powerhouse Ohio- oops I forgot about that great Pitt team and of course UConn. How could I not have seen the signs of this juggernaut?

You johnny come lately RU "fans" are in for a major surprise over the next few years.

We're starting to see where the bitterness is coming from.

I don't have bitterness, I am ROOTING FOR Rutgers. It's a nice story but it's getting crazy w/ the folks going overboard about how RU football "has arrived" or how they are now going to be a top program. It reminds of the soccer fans telling everyone how big soccer was going to be in this Country after the '94 WC. Rutgers is climbing the ladder of fans in the NY area, they just passed the Metrostars only a few more to go to catch the Liberty.

You pumped up Clemson not too long ago. I seem to recall you writing Clemson was better than Rutgers, West Virginia, and Louisville. Then Clemson lost a couple games, including one to Maryland.
Now Maryland, although ranked in mid-November, is not any good because they are not blowing out teams.

You are next to impossible to deal with on this board.
