I agree with you. Even if we don't get #9 from Detroit, I'm leaning towards Mario, if we get Ramsey. We'll have to former 1st round QBs on the roster, albeit both with some question marks. Mario will likely be the BPA, and is probably the way to go at #4, unless we trade down.
I could live with that!!!! Actually I'd be pretty psyched if we did that! And to Croyle in the 3rd round.
I know it's a rumor but I don't think that Detriot would consider trading the 9th pick in the draft for John Abraham and a 3rd round pick. Maybe if we threw in next years 1st round pick. While Abraham is a quality pass rusher he complains too much, he's always hurt and then Detriot would first have to give him a huge signing bonus to keep him happy. Abraham is worth a late first round pick or a 2nd and a 4th round pick.
I'd take Ferguson at 4 and then BPA at 9. A guy like an AJ Hawk could fall there, especially if a team such as the Dolphins wants to trade in front of us to get Cutler.
Everyone has their favorites, but take a look at Kiper's top 9: 1. Reggie Bush Jr. RB USC 2. Matt Leinart Sr. QB USC 3. Mario Williams Jr. DE N.C. State 4. D'Brickashaw Ferguson Sr. OT Virginia 5. Vince Young Jr. QB Texas 6. Michael Huff Sr. DB Texas 7. A.J. Hawk Sr. LB Ohio St. 8. Vernon Davis Jr. TE Maryland 9. DeAngelo Williams Sr. RB Memphis How can anyone be upset with coming out of the draft with ANY 2 of these guys? Also available are Haloti Ngata, LenDale White, Jimmy Williams, and Jay Cutler. How can we go wrong? Oh...wait a minute....we are the Jets.hmy: DbJ PS - For what it is worth, I'll be shocked if we get Detroit's #9.
You want the Jets to give up Abraham, this years #3 AND next years #1 for the #9 pic? I think this post belongs on a Lions message board..under a thread labeled INCREDIBLY WISHFUL THINKING
im always very interested to find out how so many Jets fans have been watching Jay Cutler for the past 4 years at Vandy, you guys all became experts of him all of a sudden even though 99% have never seen him play a live game before. You cant just listen to what they say on the internet and decide that Jay Cutler is a "A confident, strong armed, TOUGH AS NAILS, scrambling, smart, and is a franchise QB that can make every throw" without watching him EVER play. I do not feel that anyone can make judgement on a kid that all of sudden the scouts on tv and internet decided to make their "It" player of the draft, because these guys usually like to outsmart themselves and pick a guy that most people never heard of and turn them into the best QB in the draft. Basically, dont go crazy over cutler, if he was as good as they say, he wouldve been a bigger name regardless of the school....like someone like Big Ben, who when at miami of Ohio was a huge name his junior year and was talked about among the best QB's in the nation a year before he entered the draft.
That is such a Perfect post. You are exactly right. These people would not know Cutler if he came to their front door.
well said, am not drinking the cutler kool-aid. all this speculation is getting old. I just hope the jets draft the best player whomever he may be. As far as the lions go i would hope that tanny is waiting millen out. lets hope we do make the trade, and if they want a pick in return i say a day 2 pick not a 1st day pick.
