Here's some context - Rodgers is the first Jets QB to start and lose 12 games in a season since Richard Todd in 1980. yes, even the bums like Zach Wilson, Glenn Foley, Neil O'Donnell, and my screen name Browning Nagle, did not lose that many games in a season
If only “winning football” was as simple as one player not performing but the entire team took their turns blowing games this year from the receivers leading the league in drops, to missed field goals that lost 2 games directly, to the defense blowing multiple leads in the 4th quarter. Arod would be the first to tell you he could of played better as well but this team hasn’t played winning football for the last 15 years.
I was referencing more then just that post. It just seems like you despise the guy for some reason and literally blame him for the reason the Jets haven’t performed up to expectations.
well the Jets gave up a lot for him and he has brought back 5 wins in 2 years. Idk why all Jets fans don’t feel the same as me. It was a massive disappointment
Because it was with the worst coaching staff in NFL history and if Rodgers had demanded them fired day one everyone would have attacked him the same way they attack him now for being selfish.
it was Rodgers handpicked offensive coaching staff, how can that be an excuse he’s gonna do better with some kid from the Lions now? Lol. Let’s use our heads
He didn't pick Saleh. And the guy who was offensive coordinator prior nearly every Jet fan wanted gone. Yes of course because anything other than Saleh is an upgrade, let's use our heads.
Some kid from the Lions? They did have top 5 offense for 3 years in a row, and yes I would expect Rodgers, Fields, or any other QB to do better under Engstrand than under Hack. If not, and he really is some kid who is not very good, we are fucked either way. That's the biggest problem with a defensive coach: if he can't pick a very good OC, we are screwed. I do hope AG hit on Engstrand, and that means whatever QB we have will be maximized.
Everything I read here about AR decisions and future are mostly focused around his performance on the field, while in my view should mostly be focused on value going forward. Is this new regime willing to accept his high salary impact in 2026 and 2027, about the time we are ready to really compete and the honey moon for the leadership is over? I don’t think so unless AR is willing to accept a major reduction
Because most likely he won't be here. But I am certain if he stays AG will have him run Tanner's offense just like he ran MLF's one before. I do think it is a moot point, since Rodgers would need to stay with the Jets for us to see this, and it is very unlikely, but crazier things have happened.
Why wouldnt he back? Glenn can earn respect and authority in year one by winning. Why would Glenn not want the best option at QB? If Glenn is a leader of men and has confidence then he should be able to handle Aaron Rodgers as the QB and go win games.
At the top of the page here it says "Aaron Rodgers." It doesn't say anything about the coaching staff. "Whataboutism" simply serves to derail the conversation at hand.
The simple answer is because he did not do the job he was hired to do. A more detailed answer is posted on the home page of this very website: www.theganggreen.com/2025/02/04/are-the-jets-already-planning-for-an-aaron-rodgers-exit/
