good point but yeah I don’t want to lose this way anymore. they play so slow and scared and after rvvery incomplete pass grandpa grimaces. Taylor ain’t putting up 28 points anyway. He’s a very careful QB so they would still lose a lot. At least we might see some fire and enthusiasm for once out there
I really don't think he can make half the throws in the playbook anymore and only considers the routes he can hit. There's been like 3 games where the announcers are talking about the famed hail mary history of Aaron Rodgers at the end of a half and he throws a 5 yard dump off. He definitely can't throw that one with any confidence anymore. Send him to the glue factory.
It's sad it has come down to this, and I am saying this as someone who is a fan of Rodgers's game and who was happy he came here: he is declining at a very rapid pace to the point that I want him to start now just to finish tank. With Travis still hurt I would rather ride it out with AR as I actually agree: Tyrod may win an extra meaningless game or so for us just with his mobility and worsen the draft position. Let this play out at this point, Rodgers will retire, we get a better pick and start fresh next year. I never imagined it would come down to this where it is even fathomable that Zach with this OL and weapons may actually be better than Rodgers from here on out.
I mean it's not that shocking that Rodgers sucks. Plenty of people here on this site and in the media warned about his decline in his last year in GB and the history of failed 40 year old QBs.
Keep playing Rodgers at this point, he gives us the best chance to get a top 3 pick afterall, who woulda thought we’d be saying this?
only people who are shocked, are saleh, jd, woody who thought for sure ar would lead us to the promised land, the rest of the world lives in reality.
I don't know BN. I personally never thought I would be saying I want Rodgers to play over Tyrod so that we can tank better and that we would be discussing that he basically may be a Zach at this point. That last game was just brutal and it looks like a continuation of a very rapid decline I admit I did not envision to this extent.
Rodgers believed in his own anointing , and carries himself like he was supposed to be the second coming for the jets(a lot of it the fans fault for thinking he was, and being so desperate, myself included). Now that is all shitting the bed, he pretty much points fingers. I still think the defense was the main disappointment this year . Sure up the middle against the run and maybe things are a little different.
I'd argue our inability to establish a running game this year was the biggest surprise and overall disappointment Even being one of the more vocal people out there about the completely unrealistic expectations people were having with this 40yo Rodgers/Hackett offense.....I certainly wasn't expecting this to be a league worst level and bottom 3 team in rushing.
I think the people who believed in Rodgers, like myself, are truly shocked with how terrible he has been. And the people who didn’t believe in Rodgers are also still shocked because no one thought it would be this bad. I had a guy say to me “I knew this Rodgers experiment would fail, but I thought more like a wild card loss or missing out on the playoffs week 18. This is bleak.” I’m like thanks, just let me do my workout.
I guess I'm one of the few then that's not surprised. He played this poorly his last year in Green Bay but we were told it was just his thumb. Troubles completing meaningful passes with his WRs and yelling at them all game but it was a thumb issue
I'm not overly surprised either. I'm on record in one of the predictions threads saying that we'd be competing for last place with New England. Even still, I didn't think it would be quite this pathetic. I didn't think there was a shot at the playoffs, but given how bad the AFC has been this year, the product the Jets have put on the field this year is beyond unacceptable.
Well count me in the surprised camp. I figured we were a shoo-in for the wildcard even if Rodgers was giving us average QB play…shit, we won 7 games with the likes of Zach and Boyle and White. I figured AR wasn’t the AR of old, but I thought he could be average and that would be enough for an additional 3 wins or so. So yeah, I’m surprised we are THIS bad. But losing compounds on itself. Lose a few games early and the doubt sets in, people either start checking out or trying to overcompensate and things go from bad to worse. I get Woody trying to shake it up by firing Saleh early enough, but in hindsight, it was the wrong move. Taking Ulbrich out of the day to day with the defense has weakened that group by a lot. And despite the lack of discipline and shit, it felt like the players liked Saleh and played for him. Once he was canned, most of the guys checked out…especially on D. Guys like Sauce, Q, they are shells of themselves and can play better. I don’t think it’s lack of talent with either guy. It’s coaching and motivation. They are in “business decision” mode now and that won’t change with 5 weeks to go. I’m sure they are like, whatever, you want to cut me or trade me, fine…I’ll most likely be much better off. So yah…that’s why this year is so tough…the expectations were higher
Certainly fair and valid . So much wrong with this team, there is always plenty to be disappointed in.
Let's be real here. Rodgers' career ended with the Achilles injury. That's not an easy thing for a 40+ year old to come back from. I feel like if he actually played last year, the Jets would have been much better. Typical snake bitten bullshit.
I don't think Tyrod Taylor is playing attention to football right now. https://nypost.com/2024/12/03/sport...uglier-as-cops-called-to-evict-draya-michele/ I bet he plays soon!
Amazing how we traded 2 2nds for this bum and brought in the worst offensive coordinator in Nfl history to make him happy who regressed all our players, while The Steelers got Russell Wilson for nothing who is looking like Russell Wilson again, and thats why we are a joke of a franchise while Steelers won six superbowls and have stable front office people, it's no luck or coincidence, it all has to do with ownership
