In decent circumstances I just can’t see him underperforming. My worry is either injury or a couple bad losses early on and he mails it in. Or the offensive line is just fucking dreadful and he doesn’t fight.
The most Jetsian scenario I have come up with is Aaron Rodgers averages 400+ yds 3 TD and 0 INT in the first 3 games, then has a season ending injury, and Woody shits a bowl of scorpions and tells Joe to trade a 1 for some loser journeyman/future career backup, and once again the Jets miss the playoffs, followed by an entirely offseason wondering if Rodgers still gives a shit or wants to retire.
I’m not worried too much about injury, in some ways that wouldn’t be the worst because we would keep our 1st next year if that happens Rodgers has started slow in most recent years, I’m worried about that. A slow start, NY media on his back, he tries his r-e-l-a-x shit but the Jets never really recover, he plays all year, disinterested down the stretch and we lose that pick
I mean ultimate Jets would be Rodgers ingests one too many magic mushrooms and starts playing like Zach Wilson. We end up as the worst team in football, but Saleh and Douglas refuse to sit him because they know they're getting fired anyway. The Packers end up with the number one pick, but our new GM trades five first rounders to Green Bay to get Caleb Williams. Rodgers is still on the team and gets Williams addicted to the mushrooms, running Williams's career. Meanwhile Belichick signs Zach as a camp arm and ultimately wins the Super Bowl with him in a thrilling victory over Sam Darnold and the 49ers. Also Geno wins MVP.
