I did notice a lot of missing faces around me, guys that had to handle the children I suppose. I said it in the stadium thread, it was just not that loud. Fireman Ed was getting pissed that no one was getting up, it was like pulling teeth. So even the crowd came out flat off the bye. Still Rodgers had his worst game of the year though, sounds like sour grapes to me.
off our 2 losses our opponents have destroyed the jets after the game. we know about the ravens and the packers have been saying how the jets run offense is nothing special, offense predictable, defense not much pressure, blah blah blah you woulda thunk the packers dominated this game. in reality they were a holmes catch away from losing. or sanchez not seeing edwards wide open for an easy TD. or cotchery not dropping passes.
Can attribute that to PSL's and shutting alot of the real fans out. Maybe Halloween too but a 5-1 team should have a better turn out than that from the fans. You can say it was becuase of no points or wtv, but we were still one score away from taking the lead at ANY point up until the end of the 4th. Come on now!! Thats BS. It is like pulling teeth sometimes to get people to cheer. So many individuals just sit in there seat and dont clap, yell or speak at all. What is the deal? Place will never be the same as the old one in noise.
they asked him if the jets brought as much pressure with the blitz as he thought they would and he said that we didnt. you know what? we didnt bring as much pressure as we normally do ... seems like another fair assessment he wasnt taking a shot in either instance, he answered questions ... the question i posed to you, however, was rhetorical
The section I was in 321 was pretty loud and the stadium was definately into the game until I'd say midway through the 3rd quarter where it actually hit people.. "Are we seriously about to lose 3-0?" Then we got back into it when we needed a stop to get the ball back around the 2 minute mark. I'd give the crowd a B+ Also Rodgers is right about not really being pressured. There were times it seemed like he had ALL DAY to throw. He took a few good shots though but it wasn't like he was hit every play like he was probably expecting with us being blitz happy and their o-line being below average. Give credit to the guys in the back end
I was very disappointed in the crowd. I sat in the UD and hardly anyone wanted to stand up and cheer during critical third downs, and I'm not talking about the second half when the crowd was already out of it. On a completely unrelated note, I seen a few Ferraris drive into the E lot and nothing but beemers, lexuses, and Mercedes.
Rex needs to call us fans out instead of saying "The fans were great again this weekend" - The fact is that we were just as bad as the offense. I sit in the upper deck and I routinely take to my feet on any and all 3rd downs on defense. The guys next to me do as well and they are always told to sit down by the people behind them. Goddamn it people, don't go to a football game if you aren't going to cheer. If there isn't anything to cheer about then boo - at least do something except for sitting on your cold, grey plastic piece of shit chair. Its like wiping your ass before you take a shit, it just doesn't make any sense.
are you guys happy with the way the stadium was built in terms of crowd noise? was it built with intimacy and noise in the blueprint or not? Or was their a grave mistake made where they did not take this into account ala Jerry Jones?..that place is a mortuary? I know down in miami a lot of us hate our stadium because it does not allow us to connect to our players and affect the game? Thank you for your responses if there are any.
I was hoping that they'd make the place as loud as possible, but it didn't feel like it when I was there. To me, that's the first thing to consider when building a stadium. Either way, it was the first cold game, Halloween, and against an NFC team. Play the Pats or Dolphins and you'll have a completely different crowd.
My section is loud as all hell. We stand on first, second, third, and fourth down if need be. We don't play around. When I get in the truck to head home, my head is splitting like a headache from hell from screaming so much. Nobody asks us to sit down, nobody asks us to be quiet. That's how we like it. If I'm paying 2k + a year for tix, good luck telling me what to do in my seats.
From Wayne Hunter "We love passionate fans. We just hate being booed. It effects the team more than people think and that's the last thing a team wants at home." My point every time I bring it up. Takes away home field advantage when your own fans can't show support where 1 play could've given us the lead. More from Wayne- "People warned me about NY fans before I came here. They definitely live up to their reputation. Im just happy we're not the Yankees."
Nice. I don't boo the team at all, never have. I may kick the seat in front of me (because they're standing, not sitting), I might yell "FUCK THIS SHIT, COME ON GET IT TOGETHER, but I never boo my team.
so you dont think construction wise it gives you more noise than what it was like at the meadowland's? Thats great news for me.. I do not understand how an owner building a new stadium, does not prioritize crowd noise and intimacy..it can have such extreme's on the franchise, negatively if not done right, and positively, if done right. Economically, and player performance wise, stadium configuration is seriously underrated in today's NFL.. see cowboys for negative impact of poor configuration.. see The oregon duck's ''brand'' for positive result's from intimacy and crowd noise.
I think the fact that the UD appears to be miles away does not help. The stadium as a whole is so much bigger than Giants stadium too.
