Yes, I want Rodgers and think he's the best answer for the Jets, but...not at the cost of our future. It's one thing to give up maybe the 2nd or 3rd this year and a conditional pick next year (possibly becoming a #1 if we reach the SB, which would be worth it IMO), and taking on a somewhat reasonable CAP hit for a great QB, but it's another to give up prime draft capital that would cripple our ability to continue to building a long term sustainable winning team. In light of the latter, walking away at the risk of having an unsettled or even poor QB situation for this year is the better choice. Sure, it likely would mean that we would struggle to even reach the playoffs, let alone get to the SB, but it would hopefully be for just one year, and not doom us for 2+ years of not getting to the SB while we continue to see our young talent age out, and be unable to replace them because we've burned our prime draft picks. I'm sure Douglas is fully aware of all this and will refuse to given in to GB's demands, but I'm not so sure that Woody is as resolute. What should also be clear to everyone now is that it isn't "selfish, prima donna" Rodgers who is holding things up. I'll be very disappointed if AR doesn't become our next QB, but that's the life of a Jets fan: perpetual disappointment. I'll get over it.
Amen to that. He is rapidly coming across as a lying turd playing the victim, attempting to cast the blame on AR, while behind the scenes doing the exact opposite of what he said.
It’s obvious now what the issue is. The Jets lowballed Green Bay, offered some nonsense. And Packers are asking for two ones which is an over pay. People all thinking the Jets shouldn’t give up one one are ridiculous. Make a fair offer and end this. Enough of the BS. It’s Aaron Rodgers.
Well said. Time to lay to rest all the BS prima donna crap and AR not making up his mind and holding the Jets hostage and put the focus exactly where it needs to be, with GB and their asshole GM. . The media has been totally clueless and far from transparent as to what they really know...or not.
Its probably the correct assumption, but we really don't know where the breakdown is and how deep is the gap.
GB gave the Jets permission to talk to him! Hahahahahaha. Yes, GB is in the dark as their FA WR signs with the Jets
Im talking about the hysteria and everyone (reporters) being completely in the dark but never pass up a chance to take a shot at someone on the internet I guess
Lol when the franchise told Zach Wilson to reset and take some time off they literally meant to get lost and dissappear
Yeah, but it’s a short term, 39yr old rodgers. 1st rounder (1), if Super Bowl reached. I wouldn’t give up a first rounder off the bat unless we are signing a 10+ year franchise qb
As big of a shit show this organization is, this Aaron Rodgers BS is by far the biggest clown show ever
