If I were joe d I would be calling teams and giving them whatever they want for a Competent qb this season is way to important to entrust it to Zach Wilson and hope that he doesn’t stink. The defense and run game is way too good. If it costs us a first round pick so be it. A competent qb gets us to the playoffs. And anything can happen then. Hopefully we can be above .500 at the trade deadline and some dissapointing team will trade a good qb
“honest question, what makes you think Rodgers will get hurt?” “honest question…” “cause SOJF duh that’s why they feel that way”
I slept like shit last night. Kept waking up and realizing what happened. I guess I didn’t realize how high my expectations were for this year. Just for once, I wanted the jets to have an elite qb , and a real shot…. Not having to try and win with 3 out of 4 phases of the game making up for the fact that we have bitch Stewie behind a sieve for an o line.
My wife and I were laughing about this after we signed him. The Favre jersey has been with me longer than she has. She encouraged the purchase of the Darnold jersey. When we saw a Rodgers jersey in the mall we just looked at each other and laughed. Unsurprisingly the Rodgers jerseys were primarily worn by the 30ish and under crowd.
Would rodgers still be on the sideline (basically a coach for zack). Since it seems we are already living worse case scenario, maybe that could be one thing we could get out of the “rodgers era”, that could make a difference. Still need to bring someone in
Anyone hear anything NEW new? I read something this morning that was not any more definite/definitive than when I went to bed, just heavier on the doom and gloom. It ain't no ankle sprain, that would've come out already. I think the coaching staff is just waiting on severity and confirmation of what they already know.
Who thought the cut blocks were a good idea? Hard to fathom. From Zach Rosenblatt Twitter: Aaron Rodgers had expressed to #Jets coaches that he doesn't like the play-calls involving the cut-blocks because he can't extend the play and it forces him to get rid of the ball quickly, sources tell me and @DMRussini . It failed twice on his four drop-backs — one resulted in a throwaway, on the other he got injured when Duane Brown's cut failed to stop Leonard Floyd.
Great detailed analysis of this... What went wrong on play that likely ended Aaron Rodgers season (nypost.com)
The Jets coaches essentially sabotaged Rodgers. What were they thinking? This makes the injury even more crushing because it was preventable.
Only hope is that he is on the sideline coaching Zach. Best we can hope to get out of him coming here.
I guess in a way it is just bad luck because even though Brown shouldn't have been asleep at the wheel it wasn't some vicious ridiculous hit. It just leads me to believe that it was accident waiting to happen regardless. I thought Rodgers might last until game 4 but certainly not 4 plays. The crazy thing with the Testaverde injury is that nobody touched him. He just crumpled like a rag doll. VT went to recover a Curtis Martin fumble, got up, dusted himself off, stood there, and then dropped like he had narcolepsy. 24 years and two days apart. Ugh, oh, well, it hardly matters.
