To be honest I'd rather see the QB call his own plays. Maybe that wouldn't be such a bad thing anyway. I wouldn't be shocked if this move turned into Ray Edwards being a Jet since they also IR'd someone.

Why the hell are you ripping on Pace or anybody on our defense for Sunday's performance? They gave the offense more than enough opportunities to take the lead in the first three quarters. We should have been up at least 17-7 at the half ffs, but Sanchez threw a pick and Kerely muffed a punt after the defense had forced another three and out. Our D was on the field the entire game and got tired and discouraged because the offense was inept.
Exactly Maybin didn't get a shot this year to make an impact such bullshit Cut Pace Smith Thomas or Scott not someone with much needed speed
Speed doesnt matter when your constantly in 3rd and short because you have trouble with the run on 1st and 2nd down. Maybin played a decent amount, but he just did nothing. Hard to think that you cant get a single sack when you were looked at as the only legit passrushing option the Jets had coming into the season. They cut their ties. Maybin regressed.
This really sucks, but I guess you can't overlook the fact that he didn't make any impact n the field this year. He was the one player that you wanted to root for because of his story off the field and not necessarily his play on the field. Best of luck, Mayhem!
Jets don't have a single speed rusher on their roster.In this era of football that is insanity. Blame Rex for this. He's the one that downplays the importance of the role b/c he thinks his blitz schemes can carry him. Well he's about to find out the hard way. They've got no burst coming from the edge at all I do think Coples & Wilkerson could be a devastating tandem moving forward. During the preseason Rex showed a look that had Ellis & Coples 1 gapping inside & Wilk/Pace 5 gapping on the edge. Panthers(who have a pretty good oline) were having a hell of a time with it. We haven't seen the look since.Is it because the LBers are too slow in whatever they were doing behind it? Who knows.
Dude, I'm not even saying top flight. Those are hard to come by. I'm just saying a SPEED rusher...someone who can effectively 9 gap..get the edge if you will. There are plenty of those via free agency & the draft. Jets basically have to blitz DB's to get any burst on the edge.
All they have left is Ricky Sapp - he's got a decent combination of speed and motor. Hasn't proved himself yet though
I do not know about Troll, but man you have to admit when you guys were all gaga over him, we warned you. Saw too much of that guy to think he would 'suddenly' get good.
He did have 6 sacks last year. For the pay he was getting that was a huge, huge return on investment. No big deal taking a flier on him. Having six sacks in not even a full season had to expect he would at least be able to get 3 this season.
