I'd have to go back and watch, but I don't think he was knocked down by Mathews.. it looked like Mathews tried to cut him, and Maybin just kind of avoided it and didn't let it hold him back. One thing that can not be debated though, is that Maybin has incredible acceleration.. after Mathews cut him, he went from 0 to 60 extremely fast and ran down Rivers. You can say Rivers held it too long, or you can say Rivers though he had more time because most players don't close in on him that fast. He deserves credit for the job he has been doing. Only played a few games and has 3 sacks, a few fumbles caused, numerous pressures.. he's a legit player for us.
3 sacks so far I predicted 3-5 for him when he was 1st signed and got shunned. Maybin is getting better everyday and I'm happy we got a bye before Buffalo, Maybin 3 sacks vs the Bills you heard it here 1st
I'm sure I saw him knock down Rivers on one play, think he might of got a pressure on another play too.
That's what happens when you're down to Marcus Dixon and Martin Teveseau rotating in on the DL because Kenrick Ellis and Mike DeVito are both hurt. Give 'em an extra week to rest up, and you'll see the DL make a major improvement.
Maybin was just being interviewed on SNY and he seems really happy to be on the Jets. Hopefully he can turn his career around.
He got a hit on Rivers on that bogus PI that was called on Leonard in the endzone. I always try to make note, whenever he is in and where he's positioned in. The Chargers run game was gashing us and we didn't get into many obvious 3rd down passing situations, so he only had a handful of snaps today.
Bills fans are pissed . 2 Sacks for Maybin against Buffalo calling it now http://forums.twobillsdrive.com/topic/137409-another-sack-for-maybin/
I have to admit that for the last two years I have taken a lot of pleasure in his failures. That being said, I am happy to see him contributing but he has a long way to go. If you are going to compare him to ghoulston he is a superstar but it is all relative.
He's the 53rd guy on the roster (probably moved up to about 47 now). We can't judge him as a first round pick because we didn't use one on him. He's doing great.
