What makes you think that they don't already have eyewitness testimony? There are two other suspects. How many of them were charged with Murder 1 today?
Look at it this way....the Pats have been getting away with murder on the field, (since the tuck rule), maybe not getting away with it off the field, is a,step in the right direction. Brady runs out on his pregnant gf, and kid Beli paying off his mistress Chad johnson, wife batterer. Kraft dating a chick young enough to be his granddaughter. (how often will the nfl be showing that box on TV on gameday) Aaron Hernandez, accused murderer. Stay Classy New England. The Patriot Way.
I get you, and aside from the steroid thing, agree on all points. Unless there is some pressure leveraged from NFL owners to local politicians, which is always possible, I guess. If the guy was a 38 year old linebacker with a concussion history, considering recent events, I might be more inclined to agree with you.
Not sure. Up to this point, Hernandez was the only one reported to hand over a shattered cell phone. And yet the Prosecutors rattled off SMS messages verbatim, although that info can probably be recovered from servers.
Never underestimate the influence of a half trillion dollar industry that relies almost exclusively on publicity.
When you ask reality tv, this show gets it right. Very engaging and creepy. Scares the shit out of me at the thought of going to prison. But this is very educational at understanding the due process. Some criminals are so dumb, but its also very interesting to see how these detectives narrow down suspects. The guy narrating the show is the best
They may have more than that but what they showed today was a circumstantial case that can probably be beat if that's what they have to run with at trial. The bullet in the rental car is strong evidence but Hernandez was not the only person in the car. There are also questions about who was primarily driving the car in the day before the murder. Neighbors saw it parked in Lloyd's driveway the evening before the murder and in fact when he was found the keys to the car were in his pocket. I'm not saying that Hernandez didn't kill Lloyd I'm just saying that proving beyond a reasonable doubt that Hernandez killed Lloyd off of what has been disclosed so far could be a daunting task.
In court, prosecutors described a killing borne out of a trip to a Boston nightclub on the night of June 14. Hernandez and two friends picked up Lloyd at home at 2:30 a.m. on June 17, prosecutors said. Surveillance footage from Hernandez's home shows him leaving earlier with a gun. He also told someone in the house that he was upset and couldn't trust anyone anymore, prosecutors said. After picking up Lloyd, Hernandez said he was upset with Lloyd because Lloyd had spoken with people Hernandez had trouble with during their outing to the nightclub, prosecutors said. After that conversation, Lloyd texted his sister, "Did you see who I am with," prosecutors said. When his sister asked who, he answered at 3:22 a.m., "NFL," then, a minute later, "Just so you know," prosecutors said. Between 3:23 a.m. and 3:27 a.m., people working the overnight shift at the industrial park reported hearing gunshots, authorities said.
Well, I'm not a lawyer or anything close to it, so I don't know exactly how detailed arraignments can be, but it would strike me as kind of stupid for the prosecution to show their entire hand during this stage of the process. I'm guessing that they were confident enough in the strength of their circumstantial evidence in front of a judge to throw Murder 1 at him without showing any of the kitchen sinks they plan on throwing at him during a trial.
