Because he’s a fucking moron, that’s why. It’s literal insanity. Same shit over and over and over expecting different results everytime.
All I can say, is that its a very cool hire. I liked him as a kid. I really really hope he succeeds. At this point, I have zero faith in this organization to do anything right. I need to see some actual wins before I crown anyone anything. Hopefully Glenn can remove the loser aura this team has surrounding it right now.
I saw someone reported that several current Jets players spoke to Woody directly to advocate for Glenn. I know Quinnen Williams was vocal on twitter about it, so he was probably one. we saw multiple guys lose their "fire" this season. Sauce, Breece Hall, Garrett Wilson, DJ Reed obviously, I'm sure Williams felt it too. Undoubtedly others, especially on offense. It is now or never for some of these young players so it's not a bad strategy to get someone to wake them up quickly like Glenn. We can work on the tactical stuff, clock/game management whatever later, lets just get them playing hard again. I'm personally excited to see what he can get out of Sauce Gardner. I'd like to see these young guys playing like they were midseason 2022, when they were flying around leaving it all on the field. They physically f'ed up teams like Miami, Pittsburgh, Green Bay, Buffalo, etc. That's how they can play it just hasnt been there since
I know it’s not gonna happen this way but I’d sure love to hear that Glenn and Garrett have talked and he’s excited about the hire. Even if that were the case there’s no way Wilson’s camp would let that leak. They have to make Garrett out to be miserable to squeeze every cent out of the Jets come contract time or trade request time.
I have long given up on pretending I have the ability to predict who will or will not be a good coach so I’ll just stick to whether it is a reasonable hire, and I think it is. I’m genuinely happy for him if this is his dream job and hope he brings us success. I’m excited to root for him.
I'm cautiously optimistic. I get that we've done the DC first time HC thing over and over with no success but I think we have to step back and judge Glenn as his own man. I'm reading a lot of good things about him as a leader and coach and he is respected league wide. Also, how often do you hear from Bill Parcells on a player or coach but he went out of his way to compliment AG and endorse him for this job. Sean Payton also speaks highly of AG. Let's wait and see, maybe we got it right this time.
Well said Browning. He has the demeanor and the fire to change our culture and make us play as a team again. Last year was a disjointed talented but aimless mess. Get that done and the Xs and Os will start clicking
Well said. Everyone’s worried about some masterful scheme or developing a young QB (which we don’t have on the roster AND don’t really have a shot at getting in the draft). Most of this board agreed we had a fucking playoff team on paper that massively underperformed. And I agree with that. A coach that motivates these guys should be able to at least get this young core in the mix to push for a playoff spot come week 15-16. We were done before Halloween again basically this year.
yeah losing does that to you, if we are 3-10 next season, they will lose motivation, fire, etc to matter who the coach is and only a matter of time before they want out of the sinking ship.
Well said! I think this is exactly what Glenn brought to the table and why he was the guy. I feel good about it. I see that Jermaine wanted Glenn too.
It’s actually amusing to watch the rubes fall in line exactly the way the rich guy wants them to. Throw some rememberberry guy as the HC at the suckers and they will be distracted from the fact that the owner is a piece of shit. Like clockwork it’s working. People with their anecdotes and childhood memories justifying what is an absolutely god awful football coach being given a job he has zero business being given.
