AAF starting up 2/9/19

    ... and I'm out.

    I don't really know why - I was really looking forward to some competitive football, but it just didn't seem 'real'. I think I got sick of hearing everybody repeating the 'all these guys want is another chance to get back into the NFL' mantra from pundits and commentators. It made it seem like the league itself had no purpose other than to service the NFL behemoth and that didn't seem interesting. I saw some decent football as well, but for now, at least, my interest has evaporated. Shame.

    The things I really like so far.

    1. Being forced to go for 2 every time.
    2. The speedy replay official and live feed of his commentary.
    3. Hearing micced up players live during the game.
    4. Lots of ex- Jets.
    5. It gives NFL teams a chance to check out players that don't generally get live reps in the NFL. Almost like a development league.

    Is Hackenberg still on the Memphis roster? Watching today and Mettenberger is still behind center.

    I'd add that I extremely like the live feeds on the AAF site without any announcers. Camerawork is slick too.
