    No where near wet-

It's in the stats, he was developing it with Chad, by far his best year in 07 (sophomore year).

I'd say it's more amazing that every time a player gets released some Jet fan wants another signing.

When is our team going to be good enough for your standards??

Braylon, Holmes, Cotch, Keller, Clown, Smith, and LT are not bad options to go to.

Mitchell has great collegiate numbers, but you really don't want to get into comparing the two. Mitchell is actually older than Clowney by a few months, and has 4 career catches for 32 yards. Clowney has 14 for 191. So to answer your question...he's accomplished more than the older Mitchell.

He could be good, I don't know, but don't hate on the Clown.

I'm not one of the posters that says let's sign everyone...so give it up.

I'm always willing to upgrade talent.....staying status quo with Smith and Clowney...isn't helping the team. Clowney is waaay overrated by alot of Jet fans.

Holmes is out for 4 games......bring in some more competition.

There should be no issue in bringing another WR ,at hardly any cost, and let them compete.

You're comparing apples to oranges.....Mitchell has played in far less games.....so that's an unfair comparison.

Personally, I think if that's the true version of he story, the FA needs some disciplinary action.

I agree with that, as long as he's of good character. lol

I'm not a huge fan of Clowney myself-

Brad seems like a no nonsense just play "Leon" type- I've made him my new Leon actually so let the man-crush ensue- lol

I know he has more than 4 receptions, and 40 yards.

the Clown played in 5 more games.

For the role Brad Smith plays....on teams/kickoff returns and occasionally plays from the backfield.......he's very special. I wish Smith would have developed into a better WR, IMO, he's reached his ceiling at WR.

Seems like he's a mixture of Marcus and Clowney.

Rex called him the TC secret weapon at WR last season. Then he had a mess of drops. I'm not sure if it was stone hands or concentration problems.

Man would I love if the Jets brought in Mitchell!!!

His knocks are that he was a basketball player in HS therefore he didn't have much value on ST and needed a lot of work on route running.

On the other hand there was this vid on nfl.com I can't find anyomre where it was him and another 2 redskins WR and they had to turn around suddendly and catch the ball and he had the best eye-hand coordination I had ever seen!!!

    Please find that vid guys...

If we can work on his route running he'll be a VERY good WR imo.

^If a team like Redskins released a WR, it must be trash. Probably not even worth signing for the Jets. Rather have Brad Smith or Clowney catching than some no-name WR from Redskins, who were pretty thin at WR spot anyways.

The Skins have S.Moss, D.Thomas, M.Kelly, B.Wade, Roydell Williams...and they just signed J.Galloway......I wouldn't call that "thin" at WR.

Excellent blocker for a receiver with great ability to make plays after the catch. He has average hands, can't use his body to shield the ball from defenders and has difficulty getting separation, making his only use as a wide receiver being on screens and short routes, so corners sit on these routes, making him rather useless.

    Gadget player it is.

+1. The guy has done nothing for two years on the team, despite dressing for 13 games last season, his best play was a TD against a Raiders CB not named Asomugha. His roster spot is far from set.

If we are looking for a security blanket at WR, I'd rather just bring in Coles than a developmental young player that was just cut.

Roydell Williams hasn't played in more than two years and J. Galloway should have retired when Roy played his last game.
Bobby Wade is coming off a 367 yards season.
    M. Kelly and Devin Thomas both started 10 games and had 25 catches each last season. If anything, these two have a better chance than Roy and Joey.

Santana Moss is about the ONLY starting WR they have. Others are no better than a number 3.

In comparison, Jets have Cotch, Braylon, and Holmes as starting material on 'almost' every NFL team. Brad Smith and Clowney are serviceable WRs as #4s and #5s.

Just looking at their roster gives you a false sense of WR depth.
