Its a pretty simple request actually....its so simple that the media or the fanbase doesn't even need to know the extent of the "supervision/advise". The problem with a boss/friend relationship is being able to say...he..lets grab so and so to come in and just go over the game plan. Lets get some ideas what he is seeing with our first 3 or 4 drives. Just someone to bounce stuff off of. Its puzzling how a guy like Saleh who seems to leave no rock unturned, has left this situation so bare. I mean, Lafleur is left alone to plan as he sees fit. It takes rock bottom for this to get the attention it deserves. The way I see it? Lafleur has only one life raft. Zach. Zach rising to the occasion and grasping all of this stuff really soon. Zach growing faster than Lafleur. I know that sounds insane but unless Saleh becomes hands on overnight, its going to have to bottom out.
I hate how spot on you are. Below is the reason why we hear Saleh talking more to the media about "the kid playing boring," versus "the friend OC he hired putting the kid in mental and physical position to succeed." Unless Lafleur is growing faster than the curve, the question that may define the Jets for a decade could be "is Saleh more loyal to his friend or to his employer." PS - how would you feel early in your career if your organization put you in a high profile role and referred to you as the kid. PPS - isn't Mike Lafleur, at 34, a kid too?
ha! Never thought about that...kid 1 and kid 2..kid 2 is the boss. The bolded part is exactly the point. On 01/09/22 the Jets will play the Bills last game of the season. On 01/10/22 the press will be waiting for the end of the year press conference. How will this play out. Will Saleh actually say everyone has shown some forward movement and all coaches will be back. Or we will he say we plan on having our meetings to see where we are and how to go forward and again...like you said, its all about the curve. If the lack of true growth for this kid #1 continues, can Saleh really bring his bud back? Again, I believe Zach will save them all..call me blind...no problem and probably deserved. But this kid has more guts than the past 3 young QBs we drafted....combined. And I can be very very very wrong.
Ok guys...this week being a bye week I struggled to think of a video that would make sense. SO...I HAD A BRAIN STORM. I went back into our discussion here and took some of the great points made by all and used it for a video. Of course I used nobody's name. So NOT TO BE ACCUSED OF GETTING HITS ON THE CHANNEL...I am posting this in here only. I think you guys will get a kick out of it. The video:
