The Jets shouldn't trade him unless they are blown away with at least a #3 pick or higher. Conditional 6th round pick. The Jets shouldn't even consider that. In fact, if the Steelers call and offer that, Mac should hang up on them immediately.
Woot Woot! https://www.sny.tv/jets/news/jets-nfl-draft-rumors-teams-convinced-nick-bosa-goes-at-no-3/306472792 April 24, 11:23 AM According to Bleacher Report's Mike Freeman, there are NFL teams "convinced" the 49ers will end up selecting DT Quinnen Williams with the No. 2 pick, and that the Jets will follow by taking Nick Bosa at No. 3. Freeman also reports there's chatter about teams considering trading up to try to get Williams.
if they do it will be their 4th interior DL selection in the 1st round since 2015, and 3rd in the top 7. Probably a correlation to that.
I was listening to Sirius XM and they had Paul Alexander on there, the long-time former Bengals Offensive Line coach. He was raving about Greg Little, the OT from Ole Miss. It made me want Little really bad but I don't see a path to the Jets getting him unless they trade down or something. He said if Little falls to the 2nd round, it will be one the best offensive line draft picks in years at that spot. He said Little's hands are elite and pass rushers today are all about using their hands. "perennial pro-bowl talent" is how he described Greg Little. --- Little played his high school ball blocking for Kyler Murray by the way, what a hell of high school team. undefeated for years, 40 something and 0.
Interesting. I liked Little early on, but have read so much negative about him, and seen him projected for the 3rd round so often, that I had just given up hope on his being worthy of a pick. I still think we need a C more. If we get a 2nd round pick and one of Bradbury, McCoy and Jenkins are there, I think we have to take him. If Little is still there in the 3rd, we can take him then.
Ok, bold (kinda) prediction. We’re either trading with the skins or taking bosa. Thinking being skins trade to 2 for their qb and boss falls or 9ers take bosa and we trade with skins.
I think you are too hung up on the 3-4/ 4-3 thing. We will be in a 4 down lineman set more than you think
He will play the edge like he was born to do. Like his brother and his father before him. 4/3, 3/4 doesn't matter with him, he will play the edge in either one. He's also the type of guy a creative coach could move around on passing downs. They could bring him inside or on the strong/weakside in obvious passing situations to keep the offenses struggling to block him --- I worry about injuries with him, but I don't have the slightest concern about where he will play. He will play in the opponents backfield!!!
We may be in a 4 down lineman set more than I think, but unless we're switching full time to a 4-3, that would still make him a part-time player, and imo one doesn't use a high 1st round pick on a part-time player, no matter how good he is. If we're switching to a 4-3, I have no problems taking either Bosa or Q. Williams. As long as we're using 3-4 as our base, I think we would use it more than 4-3, so I don't think either would be a good pick. Allen can play in both alignments. He is scheme diverse, and would be effective and help the Jets in their flexibility.
The injuries are a big part of my concern with Bosa. He isn't going be anywhere but on the bench when he's injured.
