Remember when we were hoping Q would develop into a Sapp type DT. I think its actually happening. The guy has been a beast the last few weeks.
finally playing up to the #3 ovr pick status. lets hope it continues after he gets paid. Right now, he will probably be looking for cash right under Aaron Donald.
Aren't they doing a less robust rotation now? If we could only convince MLF to put Moore in the slot...
Not sure about the rotation thing... but whatever their doing is working. Some "expert" pointed out that Quinnen & Co. has more room to do their thing without additional blitzers clogging up the gaps. If the D Line keeps this up... comparisons to the Sack Exchange of yesteryear become less silly. I really like what I'm seeing... I was really critical of the defensive scheme as a whole... but it looks to be working now.
Grades - just like in school - are meaningless IMO. It's what you actually know and do that counts. Grades are just a lazy way of trying to use numbers to rank and compare people, but the circumstances that each person is in are usually so different as to render valid comparison impossible. Watch the tape, then judge for yourself. That said, it's not out of line to watch tape analysis by trusted experts who can help point out things you might miss or might not understand, but relying on grades is a poor way to evaluate players (and students).
I agree, but was just sharing this to make the same point about PFF. Their grades are a joke and totally meaningless. They have no clue what they are even seeing when they watch games.
Yeah I was an advocate of PFF but after giving Q that low of a grade, I won’t use them for play eval. also they still rotate but they increased Q’s snaps as they should. The whole playing 60% of snaps just wasn’t good when he is your best player on the defense.
It’s interesting as there were a few times when the starting DL played first down, then they all rotated out for second and third down and then came back in on third down. not sure if that’s how they’ve always been rotating all year or if that’s a new development, but it sure worked on Sunday…that DL was feasting. also was good to see Vinny Curry get a nice TFL on his first play…
Not only was he dominant against the pass, but one of the best RB tandems in the NFL went for 60 yards on 19 carries, so it was a dominant game against the run. Not sure where they could have picked up faults
