    When do I ignore anything?

I believe those #s are wrong. According to the link below he hit .325 in close and late in 2006:

    http://sports.espn.go.com/mlb/players/splits?statsId=5406&type=batting&year=2006

The link below has a aplit "late inning pressure" and they had him at .348 last year.

    http://www.sportsline.com/mlb/players/player/splits/2006/7758

There's no way he batted .245 or whatever, this is another case of someone not watching players and just posting stats.

Please don't ignore this devil. Own up to being proven 100% wrong. Did you fudge those numbers?

another non-Yankee fan who doesn't watch ARod every day and just looks at fantasy #s. here are some important #s:

    Postseason batting:

    Jeter: .314, 17 HRs, 48 RBI, .384 OBP, 16 SB, 4 CS

    ARod: .280, 6 HR, 16 RBI, .362 OBP, 4 SB, 3 CS

Jeter has helped his team win 4 WS and 6 AL pennants, ARod has helped incredibly talented teams never reach the WS. Jeter is a career .317 hitter in the reg season and only goes down to .314, ARod is a career .306 hitter and drops to .280.

Now let's look at the #s by month in their careers:

    Jeter- ARod

    April: .306, .317
    May: .297, .320
    June: .312, .299
    July: .338, .304
    August: .318, .321
    September: .326, .279
    October: .362, .250
    Post: .314, .280

Notice any trends as the games get bigger? You guys can keep your meaningless fantasy stats, i'll take the guy who prodices when it matters.

Wouldn't 1 clutch hit be better than zero? and that clutch hit sent us to a WS so it was a clutch hit times 100.

Boone batted .170, isn't that better than .097? he hit 2 HRs, isn't that better than ZERO? He had 4 RBI, isn't that better than ZERO?

We hit in a game or 2, we didn't hit consistently. Are you arguing ARod didn't kill us in the last 2 postseasons? are you arguing that in game 2 last year it wasn't the bats fault?

Let's look at his chances for RBI the last 12 postseason games:

    2004 ALCS:

Game 5: was HBP w/ Jeter on 3rd, at least he got a hit. W/ cairo on 2nd and 1 out he struck out. in 12th w/ Cairo on 2nd he struck out again. 0 for 2, 2 K's.
Game 6: No chances, the famous swipe play happend in this game.
    Game 7: No chances

    games 5,6,7 totals: 0 for 2, 2 K's

    2005 ALDS:

    Game 1: 4th inning, Jeter on 2nd and ARod strikes out. 0 for 1, 1 K.
game 2: (just to note, tied 2-2 in the 7th ARod leads off w/ a walk and then gets caught stealing). No RISP chances.
    Game 3: No chances.
    Game 4: 3rd Inning, runner on 3rd and ARod K's looking. 0 for 1, 1 K
Game 5: 2nd inning(after seeing Bubba Crosby deliver a big RBI) he stirkes out w/ Bubba on 2nd. 0 for 1, 1 K. Honorable mention: down 2 in the 9th ARod finally didn't strike out as he grounded into DP to kill any chances we had.

    Series totals: 0 for 3, 3 K's
    Totals so far: 0 for 5, 5 K's(noticing a trend?)

    2006 ALDS:

Game 1: ARod did get a hit! but of course we were up 5-0 and no one was on. No chances.
Game 2: Loaded bases top of 1 and ARod strikes out looking. 0 for 1, 1 K.
Game 3: 1st inning, Jeter on 2B and ARod DIDN'T K! but he grounded out.
    Game 4: no chances.

    Series totals: 0 for 2, 1 K
    12 game total: 0 for 7, 6 K's

This does not include all the rallies he helped kill by not getting hits or advancing runners. It's all there in bacl and white, it's easy to digest- how is this even a debate?

Jeter showed up, he hit .500 in the series so obviously they didn't follow his lead.

When have I ever said it wasn't? My point was we still should have won each of the last 3 series but we couldn't hit.

We all know you judge players by fantasy stats which is why you thought Miami getting Culpepper last year was a great move- how did that work out?

You constantly ignore things. It's what you do. If you don't have an answer you avoid the question.

My numbers are the correct numbers. They come from the official Yankees site, and are the official MLB approved stats. Your numbers come from third party sites and are apparently inaccurate according to MLB. At least you didn't make them up, but they are still incorrect.

They are NOT the correct #s, there is no Jeter's #s are correct and I don't care where it came from b/c it's obviously a mistake.

here is foxsports: it doesn't have late and close but the other #s are in line w/ the ESPN #s and it has innings 7+ at .303:

    http://msn.foxsports.com/mlb/playerSplits?categoryId=85268&seasonSelected=2006&splitYearForm=Go

There is now ay the .245 # is correct, he never would have been considered for MVP if that # was correct.

By the way, what am I ignoring? it appears to me you guys are ignoring every piece of evidence I bring up. Just look at the #s I presented you and tell which player you'd rather have.

You are out of control, and so ridiculously wrong it's not even amusing anymore junc. You continue to change your arguement when PROVEN WRONG, just to appear that you somehow had the CORRECT opinion all along.

You'd SERIOUSLY take Aaron Boone OVER ARod? That's not amusing, that's not funny, that's not even mildly retarded. That's just plain stupid.

You're DAMN RIGHT I'm arguing that ARod DID NOT, let me repeat DID NOT kill us. Only Jeter, Matsui and Posada hit in the last couple postseasons with any merit. That is exactly ONE THIRD of the lineup.

How the hell is ARod responsible for killing us? If SIX PLAYERS IN THE LINEUP ARE NOT GENERATING HITS YOU CANNOT BLAME ONE PLAYER. Explain to me what is so difficult for you to grasp here?

As for "hitting in a game or two" WTF were the OPPOSITION doing? They didn't score more than us by frigging MAGIC.

YOU are the one who posted the big ERAs for our opponents. If WE were scoring on THEM, at least 5-6 times per every nine innings, and we LOST, which we DID, then they MUST have been scoring MORE than 5-6 times per every nine innings ON us.

AGAIN I ask, what is so hard about this math for you?

You got me there. You're spot on with that question.

    EXACTLY.

YOU were the one who pointed the finger at ARod and said that EVERYONE followed HIM. Well, Derek is the CAPTAIN. If ANYONE is to be followed, it's the CAPTAIN. And they DIDN'T.

Thanks ONCE AGAIN, for making my point for me.

Are you just being a smartass now? Or do you really not recall all the times you blamed Alex Rodriguez for SINGLE-HANDEDLY losing our playoffs for us these past few years?

Are you seriously denying you claimed that the pitching was not a problem?

Are you seriously now saying "we couldn't hit" as though you've blamed the ENTIRE team, rather than AROD ALONE, all along?
    -----------------

You are wholly transparent junc. You are no longer amusing. You take the champ69 method of arguing to a level even he should be proud of.

When in doubt, change your argument to look like you weren't counter to the point to begin with.

It works for face-to-face arguments, but when you do it on a message board, and people can go back and see what you ACTUALLY said, it's pretty silly to deny it afterward.

But whatever junc. I know your next statement will be for me to dig back and find all the comments you have made to support my arguement, but I'll just leave it to all the other people who view this thread to remember and simply laugh you off as the joker of the bunch.

You're barely even speaking English at this point. Is that your plan? Write gibberish no one can understand, that way, when we prove you wrong later, it's easier to deny?

As for whom I would rather have, let's see...

Aaron Boone or Alex Rodriguez at 3B?

    ARod.

Derek Jeter or Alex Rodriguez at SS?

    ARod.

Jason Giambi or Alex Rodriguez at DH? Hell, even at 1B?

    ARod.

Hmmm, ANYONE IN THE LEAGUE AT ANY POSITION or the MOST GIFTED PLAYER EVER?

    AROD.

The only position I wouldn't pick him at is pitcher. If you would do otherwise, you don't know HALF the baseball you THINK you do.

Where did I change my argument?

My original statement was that ANY palayer would ahve produced more than ARod has in his last 12 postseason games, you asked if I'd rather have Aaron boone's production and I showed you as poorly as boone played in oct '03 he outplayed ARod by a wide margin- why wouldn't I prefer Boone's production to ARod's? add in that Boon ewasn't counted on to do big things and what we got from him was gravy and it's a slam dunk.

So 0 for 7 w/ 6 K's w/ RISP didn't kill us? Ok, whatever you say. How about his errors? how about his grounding into DPs? How about his caught stealing? nah, he was great. W/o him we wouldn't have had a chance:rolleyes:

Every one of those other players that struggled at least had a moment or 2, ARod was consistently awful. ZERO RBI in 12 straight postseason games!

Do I have to explain this to you ssssslllllloooowwwwlllllyyyyy? it's not about leading as in leaership in the LR, it's about they played the way ARod played. Jeter can't make players hit.

I have said he was most responsible.

Show me where I said pitching wasn't a problem. I said we pitched WELL ENOUGH, that doesn't mean we pitched well but w/ our offense we should ahve won the last 3 series even w/ our staff.

Champ says something then never backs anything up. I have PROVEN my point. You ignore all the damning #s against ARod I provide. read the #s in my last post rather than glancing at them and ignoring them.

Ask yourself this- if ARod is this great then why is he being run out of town? You guys can keep your meaningless fantasy #s and I'll take the guy that produces when it matters.

Stop spewing nonsense and show me where I changed my argument? you are deflecting b/c you don't have an argument as usual.

    Go back and get it.

It's shocking yo would make statements and then not back them up. If it's so easy go back and look them up and prove me wrong but you can't do it. you just want to throw out false accusations after I torched your weak argument.

    let's compare:

ARod's last 12 postseason games: .097, ZERO RBI
    Boone in '03: .170, 2 HR, 4 RBI
Jeter last 12 postseason games: .346, 3 HR, 11 RBI
Giambi last 2 postseasons: .333,1 HR, 4 RBI

Junc, at this point, all I have left for you is insults. And you are truly not worth the banning for it.

Everyone can see how you've changed your arguments REPEATEDLY, and proven YOURSELF wrong OVER AND OVER.

No, I am not Cakes. I will not spend my entire day going back, clipping your stupid comments, and PROVING you are changing your argument repeatedly.

You'll of course take this as an opportunity to say you've WON AGAIN, but it's clear to anyone else who is viewing this thread that you haven't got a leg to stand on.

If you can't back it up then don't bring it up. Cakes didn't prove anything and you are not proving anything, you don't have an argument and you start making things up b/c of it.

I don't have to say "I won again" my argument speaks for itself while your lack of an argument speaks for itself.

If you are going to get into a debate at least bring something to it so it will be fun to go back and forth but you didn't bring anythig to back up your argument other than insulting me.

I don't need to insult you junc, I proved you wrong over and over. Don't believe me? Go back and look yourself, which is where the reference to Cakes comes from.

I refuse to waste my time going back to find all the proof that you have no clue what you're talking about, or that you change your arguments. Everyone here SEES it. You just deny it, like you ALWAYS do, and claim that no one can beat you.

So off to my ignore list you go junc. You know, maybe others will relegate you to theirs as well, and eventually, you'll just have noone to talk to. Then you can pretend to be right all the time without any arguments at all.

Yankee fans have made Arod a basket case. No matter what he does it will never be enough. He's off to one of the best starts in MLB history, and Yankee fans are just waiting for him to make an out against the Devil Rays so they can boo him.

And then their hero, The Captain, will smirk and know that he is loved...as he boots another routine ground ball.

    What are you talking about?

ARod is being adored by all but one person here right now.

Jeter is still loved simply because of what he has done. It's the same as Mattingly. Yankee fans appreciate the history of a ballplayer in pinstripes. ARod has yet to make a legacy, but that doesn't mean he is on anyone's shit list right now.

Doesn't it just seems like no matter what AROD does he is always met with some excuse?

"Well he hit a homerun but we were winning anyway". Has any other player had that said about them?!

And even if he hits 60 hrs this year and bats .350, if the yankees lose in the playoffs it will be arod's fault.

The guy should leave and join sweet lou where he will be appreciated.

THe Mattingly Curse is alive and well. That poor guy will never win a championship. As soon as he leaves the yankees will win it that year. It's creepy.

Well, obviously Major League Baseball MUST have the wrong numbers. I mean, come on, they contradict the almight nyjunc. You know, I bet if you asked, they would give Jeter the all time home run record. Just because it's you, and you're never wrong.

Whatever junc. You are clearly delusional if you truly believe that somehow the official statisticians of Major League Baseball were off by that much, and, after having nearly 8 months to correct it, decided to leave it as it was. For two different players. Seriously, do you know how ridiculous you sound? YOU ARE WRONG! Just admit it. Be a fucking man for once.
