Maybe I shouldn't have said "learn", but he needs to start doing that. He is entirely too impatient, and chases too many bad pitches. Pitchers aren't going to give him much to hit, but most of the time you can get one or MAYBE two mistakes out of the pitcher. It's all a matter of fouling off or taking the bad ones and waiting on the good ones.

A-Rod is a bimbo. That really explains it all to me.

NO you don't. Yankee fans should be doomed to a roster full of Roger Cedenos for the way ARod has been treated.

I keep seeing opposing fans and nat'' media rip the treatment of ARod. When he starts playing better consistently and starts coming through more in the clutch he'll be treated like a God. Not every player when they come here is treated warmly, in the last decade alone guys like Tino, Girardi, Giambi and others have been booed to death yet they were mentally tough to come back. If ARod can't handle the booing then maybe this isn't the place for him? Jeter and Mariano have been booed!!!!!!!!!!!! Mickey mantle was booed!!!!! ARod was playing well better before the 3 error game but now his fragile mind has this throwing problem. Suck it up(I don't mean in a "Red Ass Rip City" way, I'm talking to toughen up) and started playing like he can and the boos will die. I don't mean 1 big hit then 2 weeks of the usual, become more consistent and the boos will stop.

Yeah, the only player in Yankee history I can't remember seeing being booed was Mattingly. You have to know you will hear it coming here. It's the toughest stage in sports, for all of our area's teams.

As far as Ortiz, he has something A-Rod doesn't, Manny hitting behind him. It doesn't explain why Ortiz is getting intentionally walked, but it does explain why Ortiz sees quite a few hittable pitches. If you told me I could have one guy in the majors to start a team with, it would be Manny. If A-Rod had Manny hitting behind him, he would have had 450 last September.

I wasn't even going to post again in this thread, since I'm really sick of the "kick A-Rod when he's down" club. Does he single-handedly lose games for the Yankees? No. Has he struck out when he could have helped score runs? Yes. Has he done it every single time he had the chance? No. Does every major leaguer strike out in a big situation at least a few times in his career? Only if he plays in the majors for more than a year.

It just seems like it always comes down to one thing. A-Rod is making a boatload of cash. Since he isn't hitting like Ruth, people don't think he deserves it somehow. The thing people never seem to put together about it though is that the Texas Rangers gave him that money because they couldn't field a winning team, and wanted something to get fans into the seats. Sure, the Yankees have to pay it now, but I'll bet if you ask any GM in the major leagues if they would be happy to pay A-Rod's salary, even now, the answer would be overwhelmingly yes.

That pirate poster made me think of this thread so I bumped it.
Post 46 (re: 44 and 37) is hilarious to me.

Ahh, the good old days when a non-Yankees fan could tease Yankees fans.

Darn it! I thought this was going to appear in the bullshit section. Well, here comes a warning. Cakes is in the baseball forum! Oh no!
