Sanchez would not have been in that position if they left Tebow on the sidelines and just ran it with Greene 3 more times. Tebow is like the anti-Christ. He is supposed to come in and confuse the other team. Meanwhile he confuses our own offense.
Again, what are the Coaches seeing during the week that forces them to continue down this path of futility? Is Tebow really all that bad? Are they covering their asses from the bullshit secret weapon nonsense of the preseason? I hope someone out there has an answer. Watch the stadium on Thanksgiving. If the Jets shit the bed, you'd better believe Woody will step in, and most likely on, the CS.
Thanksgiving night game could be really, really UGLY no matter which shitty QB is taking the snaps. The holiday will keep the fair weather fans home, couple this with the shitty record and you'll have a half empty stadium full of drunken, pissed off, diehards. Not to mention they are playing their biggest rivals who would love to, and likely would rip the Jets up for a BIG blowout. Fast Forward - 3rd quarter and its Patriots 31-10, and you'll see nothing but empty ugly gray seats on television. I also could see lots and lots of fights of those that are there. Jets fans fighting Jets fans (over the QB situation), Jets fans fighting Masshole Pats fans. Woody Johnson gets what he deserves for this, as its his creation. He lobbied for Tebow and for this game, and it will be the perfect culmination of all his bullshit.
Wish you could be right. After seeing Jets pass on Sapp, picking Lamb Jones, rushing to hire Kotite, going after Neil O'Donnell, passing on Marino, Herm "chicken shit" Edwards not trying to gain yardage for the 2nd FG in Pitt, etc .... OMG this franchise has a painful history.
When is everyone going to realize that TT was plain & simple another way to fool the fans & sell tix. As P.T.Barnum said there is a sucker born every minute & Woody knows that to be true with whatever fan base he has. If Elway discarded TT why are we to expect that he is the answer to us winning the SB?
I'll say this and some of you will disagree. As bad as the CS think Tebow is, when he's asked to come in for a down, it's usually successful. Granted 2-4-8 yards, but often a first down or close to it. I know everyone thinks the guy sucks, but what he's shown on the field, given the limited play options and time, he hasn't at all looked horrible. I've said it before, Tebow's best plays come from long passes, he has the arm for it, send Hill down the sidelines a couple of times. If you stretch the field, it opens up a lot more options for Tebow, he can run and doesn't get flustered the way Mark does under pressure. If on the other hand, he is so bad that he can't even play behind the worst QB in the league, why the hell is he still on the team? Either play him, see what he's got or get rid of him. After watching the last few weeks, there's no way Tebow or McElroy are not an option.
I've canceled plans to go see Jets on Thanksgiving & I'm sure many others Jets fans have done the same. Hopefully somebody on these forums can tell us how many Jets fans are actually here. I've got a feeling it's gonna turn into a Pat home game.
I agree that Tebow as glimmer man doesn't help at all. I'm buffled at how they use him: put him in for 1st & 10 after Sanchez completed for 30+ yards, then remove on 3rd & short? WTF? That said, you overlooked my major point re Sanchez: This type of idiotic decision-making has nothing to do with Greene's inaptitude, or poor routs by WRs, lack of pass protection, etc. Inside 20 you must leave with at least 3 pts. Especially in a tight & hard game like it was at that time turnover because of a bone-headed throw is not acceptable. Period.
Fozzi Rex is not a good coach. He is ignorant offensively (or offensively ignorant), his game preparation is lax, his in game adjustments are horrible, and his claim to fame -- defense has been beat up the last two seasons. The league caught up to Rex and Rex can't adjust.
Listen carefully to Marshall Faulk - I think he has a totally different take on what's going on. Could he be right? No clue but it's interesting. http://www.nfl.com/videos/new-york-jets/0ap2000000093590/What-should-Rex-Ryan-do
I'd say that TT was a plan to get media attention back on the Jets after the Giants won the Super Bowl. I'd say that if that Giants didn't win the Super Bowl last season, TT would be a Jaguar right now.
Nice conversation & thanks for posting. Wish they would've given Faulk more time to talk. He gives off that vibe as a smart guy but won't force others to listen to him. Don't normally watch this program, is it normal for him to be constantly cut off & only utter a couple sentences? Would've loved to hear a longer segment with all those guys discussing the issues.
Agreed. This has gone way beyond how someone looks at practice, how about how someone looks in a game. There is something deeper going on, and I suspect you nailed it. The more I see Rex in interviews, and compare his bravado vs his coaching actions, it seems to me that Rex is just not head coaching material, and is not strong enough to make any serious decisions that will have some emotional impact. He did have locker room issues last season and maybe those are still in his mind.
What is the difference between a Fullback and how they have used Tebow? LT and Brad Smith ran the wildcat better and were more successful on passes and neither were in the position of taking over if Sanchez gets hurt. If they saw he was a backup they wouldn't expose the backup to special teams and the mickey mouse bullshit that they have been doing. Even when the Eagles tried and failed to do the same thing that we are doing, Vick at the time was the 3rd string QB. Tebow has attempted more bullshit flat pass routes than attempted passes.
So you're saying that the organization traded for Tebow never intending to use him at QB? That does explain a lot of things about his usage so far.
"Football player" is fine, but they don't use him as that either. Coming on the field 3-4 times/game is not "using", our special team guys see more action than TT.
That begs the question then: Why is Tebow listed as the #2 Qb? Another miscalculation by the CS or just a pacifier to Tebow? If you're right MSU, then this team has only 1 Qb and no other options. I would think this is a damning indictment of a incompetent FO/CS. They are all in on Sanchez and now that isn't working, they have no option as I believe the #3 Qb can't play by rule unless the #2 gets knocked out of the game. Is that correct?
The arrogance of Rex will be his downfall...Tanny will go with him too. I'd rather lose with a unknown in Tebow instead of a sure fire loss with Sanchez
Man...I have heard this on the radio and could never believe that was the case. He was not wanted by Rex or Sprano. Could that be? Did Woody force their hand? Is that possible in this day and age? Thats the only thing you can take from all of this. I saw Tebow on the sideline next to Sprano after a play when Tebow did that hesitation thing and then ran for the first down for 3 yards..and Sprano turned to him as if to say..dont hesitate..go..faster. Thats it? What is getting missed here is that Tebow..whether its 3rd and short or punt fakes is almost perfect. If you brought him to do just what he has done..he is almost perfect...it has worked. Problem is that the rest of the train wreck is so bad that nobody had any faith in putting him as a starter..and thats a huge problem with this team and having him as your backup.
