I'm sorry but I'm going to have to call you ridiculous again. There is no way "most O Linemen are 6'5" and over" and there is also no way "most D linemen" are either. As a quick example, here is the heights of our OL and DL from last year: Jason Fabini 6'7" Jonathan Goodwin 6'3" Adrian Jones 6'4" Pete Kendall 6'5" Kevin Mawae 6'4" Scott Gragg 6'8" John Abraham 6'4" Shaun Ellis 6'5" Lance Legree 6'1" Trevor Johnson 6'5" Sione Pouha 6'3" James Reed 6' Bryan Thomas 6'4" So that is 2 players over 6'5" and they play OT which means they will not be directly in front of the QB like the Guards and Center (also they are not even on the team anymore). There were 3 players who were 6'5" one play(ed) right in front of our QB in Kendall and the other ones are a DE and a backup. A lot of OT and DE are tall, but, most are not above 6'5" and even if they are, they are not the primary concern. The interior of both lines are. You are not going to find too many tall interior players like Ted Washington because they have to be so fat to have any leverage on the other players. On the outside, it is more of an asset to be tall because you can keep the other players at a further length away, but being over 6'5" is not a normal thing and it is an enormous generalization to think that most players are over 6'5". Furthermore, in order for that to even be a factor, Young would have to throw the ball straight out from his body. No QB in the history of the league throws like that. Everyone puts a certain amount of arc on the ball and even if a QB throws a "bullet" it is still going to reach 2-3 feet above his stated height. And if that is the case its not going to matter if you are 6'5" or 6'0" or throw over your head or side armed because they are going to have a fairly equal chance of being blocked.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but it's not entirely out of the question for Young to change his throwing mechanics once he gets drafted. If a QB coach thinks it will be a problem, he'll work it out with Young. Some of you are acting as if it's impossible fix.
That's true although some people believe that he is succesful with his methods so it might be detrimental to try to change him now a la Michael Vick.
Dude your killin me. Your gonna sit here and argue over the fact that the Jets line men dont average 6'5" You need to get a life Im not even gonna reply anymore
Why dont you go and research the entire NFL for me andbring back your useless info...then maybe I'll conceed
