In order for Chad to be successful he needs to play "mistake free" football, the running game needs to have some substance, and the defense has to be effective in two areas, not giving up points, and giving Chad a short field. That said, this team is not built to give Chad what he needs currently. Another QB with a stronger arm and more mobility might be able to overcome some of the failures to execute the above intangibles.
Brilliant. Why didn't the coaches and myself think that? I'm sure we can get the wins with KC. (note sarcasm) I'm sure you were saying that last year too and in 04. Put the entire blame on the QB all you want, but with a porous point-giving defense, a 50/50 pass protection and 0 running game and you will still have a team that will make you start to cut out the eye holes in your brown bag. I'm not a Penny lover or hater, I too would like to see KC come in and shine. Back in the real world, WAKE UP PEOPLE!!!! that just isn't going to happen unless the rest of the team makes significant changes on both sides of the ball as well (not just KC>CP). DO YOU UNDERSTAND THAT!? OR ARE YOU THAT THICKHEADED?
I said it last week, I'll say it again. This whole team sucks. It's not all his fault but so what? He's the easiest piece to replace at this point.
The whole reason i became a jets fan was because of Chad Pennington, but im a realist. We cant stretch the field at all, our running game is going no where cause no team respects our vertical game. I love chad and all, but this season is not going anywhere, lets give the kid a shot. If he doesnt show anything then we might have a low enough pick in the draft where we can pick up brian brohm
Honestly, I am at a loss when trying to understand how people can watch football all their lives and still have no clue what is going on. Chad cannot keep defenses honest, and cannot put significant points on the board anymore. This kills our running game. Chad's INT's and 3 and out's keep our defense on the field constantly. This kills our defense. Even with scores on D and ST, we cannot count on Chad to score enough points. This sucks the very life out of the team.
As bad as Pennington looks can you imagine what he would be without Coles? Coles and his circus catches makes Pennington look almost like an NFL QB.
