this may be the most horrifying post i have EVER seen on this board. great information but the fact that this meeting ever took place or the things that WERE discussed were actually fucking discussed is absolutely beyond me!!!! seriously think about what appears to have happened, does this not make you think this entire organization is run by jackasses who want to make other jackasses feel special for a large amount of money? the jets are officially WHORES. i am amazed and disgusted, i havent felt this sick from something i saw on the internet since i saw 2 girls 1 cup!
dude...it's football...it's not like they were in the oval office with the joint chiefs discussing US military strategy. Get ahold of yourself.
you make it sound like theyre outsourcing the scouting department to India. Is it at all possible that they had a simple conversation about the state of the team and fielded a few questions? cause thats all it really was. if anything the conference call was publicity and an explanation to people as to why theyre handing over a ridiculous amount of money. take it with a grain of salt, i just thought it was something different than the usual rumor mill website jargon.
oh really, so do you think that any other team is doing this? do you think that jimmy johnson went out to his biggest ticket holders and asked them what they think or told them what was going on behind the closed doors of the war room? seriously that is a complete abomination. and furthers the point that this team is a bunch of cock suckers who are going to try and make 100k psls ok by talking to the jackasses about stuff they have NO business knowing until draft day. think about it, anyone can read this and get a pretty good idea what the jets are going to do with their draft, thats quite an advantage. we went from mangina who wouldnt tell you if it was sunny outside to now discussing what we want to do in the draft with a bunch of ticketholders 5 days before the draft. this franchise really is too much.
All Woody cares about is PSLs, and if he has to send his yes-man all over town giving head to the local royalty to sell them, it's what he will do. I'll be interested to see how accurate this info is, though. I doubt they are giving away their naked draft strategy to the management of a sausage empire.
btw javorskie lane is nothing more than caulcrick was coming out of college. a HUGE man who can run with power but doesnt have speed or moves to make it as a rb in the nfl. there are very very few jerome bettis in this league for a reason. not worth a draft choice in my opinion.
Good stuff, Coach K. Not to sound like a cynic but I also think the big story here is that this conference call even happened. If PSL sales continue to struggle, maybe buyers will have input on personnel matters in future years.
hehe that made me laugh abyz. i sure hope that there is NO truth to any of this. its just such a bad idea. and such a shame to see exactly what you said happening. and in such a blatant fashion. they arent even taking them to a private room they are doing it right on the side of the street.
oh btw that is great info coach k. i am just amazed that it was gotten. i dont mean to shit on your thread with my annoyance with the organization.
*shrug* no harm no foul. i mean most of what came out of the convo is stuff thats been discussed on the board. the only reason i said anything is because its far more interesting to hear it coming from the top instead of a "reporter" from supercoolfootballstuff.com or whatever other blurb will make it on the board by the end of the day. i think your worrying too much that the jets took this more seriously than i did.
Well, Richardson is 37. Just a thought. Though if Caulcrick pans out there probably isn't a need for two big bruisers on the squad.
I don't think Jimmy Johnson did anything. Jimmy Johnson hasn't been affiliated with an NFL team for nearly a decade. I guarantee you that Jerry Jones, however, bends over backwards for his big contributors. It's an especially smart move in a down economy when you're asking people to fork over big cash for PSLs. What the hell was so bad about what was said? They made some guys feel special during the transition to PSLs, which is an incredibly smart business move. I know the management of the Anaheim Ducks and, guess what? They did the same thing when ownership transitioned after the NHL strike. As a fan, I was put on the phone with the owner, Henry Samueli, while at the CEO's house before the Sergei Fedorov trade, and I wasn't giving anything. I sure as hell know I didn't have any impact on the decision, just provided a little assurance that fans wouldn't freak. Oh, and they won the Stanley Cup the next season. It sure as hell didn't damage the team to reach out to fans. So, other teams can tell that the Jets have some different options that they're looking at in the draft, some places they'd like to seek out certain positions, and yet will draft based on BPA if the right value presents itself. HOW IS THAT ANY DIFFERENT FROM WHAT WE KNEW ALREADY? I really don't think this comes off as "Woody and Tanny are trying to get input on how to proceed because they're dumbasses." It comes off as presenting a blanket view of how the team feels going into the draft without giving away strategy. Calm the fuck down.
Brilliant call. Just say NO to Freeman. Shoring up the trenches would be very logical with rd 1 pick. rd 2 can take many direction - WR/RB, or if Ron Brace is there, DL P.S. Leave "Zach owes me a beer" note somewhere too!
They aren't taking advice from a meat distribution place. They are making them feel in the loop so they buy PSLs. Look at Yankee stadium, the Jets don't want the PSL debacle they have over there at the new stadium.
I'm just flabbergasted that they're doing this kind of thing at all. If I'm Bill Belichik I definitely have somebody buy the most expensive seats in the house so I can sit in on these bull sessions.
its different for the same reason that it was posted because its NOT coming from some jackass, its coming from one of the main decision makers in the organization. any tipping of your hand in this league is a HUGE HUGE HUGE problem. its really just a scumbag thing to do, when it comes down to it they are going around town sucking off those with the money. i am just not a fan of bs marketing ploys to try and get people to think they are important and spend shitloads of money. they are treating them as if they are stupid. its not that its not a smart marketing move, its that its just a scumbag greedy douchebag move. but then again these days thats about status quo in jetsland.
Clemens will get his shot, the organization feels he was never given anything resembling a fair shot when he took over for Pennington. They also believe he has a great grasp of the system. Specifically, they feel he learned alot from Favre last year regardless if anyone says otherwise First let me say thanks for the info coach, yet, because of how it was obtained I will take it with a grain of salt. I do find the above statement quite interesting though, and of all the information you passed along to us, I do hope that this support is geniune. Now let me tell you why, first off, it was mentioned that inspite of things being said outside the Jets inter-circle from all the so called experts, they are committed to give him his shot. This tells me that Clemens has step up and is saying and doing the right things to make the Jets feel this way. Also mentioned is how well Kellen know this system, which make sence, since he has the longest amount of time in it. I also have to believe that from the above statement and the support he is receiving from his team mates, he is showing something on the field as well... So this has me even more excited for the start of the season and makes me feel that it's truely Clemens job to lose and this time out I expect him to be under center at the start of the season. Now don't get me wrong I also want to see Ratty pick it up as well because as we all know you almost need two starters now a days in the NFL... An you can count me in the just say no to Freemen as well ,unless he drop to the 3 or 4th round
Perhaps we should revisit the topic in a few days, when you're able to think a bit more rationally. Slightly over the top response. Just slightly.
