After your first pick, which I like, everything falls apart. Williams is not there at 29. If we sign Runyan we don't need a day 1 OT. We have Moore and Kendall, so we don't need a day 1 OG. Eslinger is not lasting until the 3rd round, and Croyle is likely going in the second round. 4 - Mario 29 - Mangold 2nd - best available LB (i.e. Manny Lawson) 3rd - best available QB (i.e. Brodie Croyle, Ingle Martin) 4th - best available OL

I hope people know that the 4th round is not actually in the first day of the draft. I've been thinking about the maybe bogus rumor posted a couple days ago that talked about that Vikings. That would be unbelievable! But how do you expect the 2nd best back in the draft to slip to #29? I mean I'm sure some team will need a back before us.
If the FO decides they don't want D'Brick...i'd be very content with trading down and picking up Vernon Davis, which would help our line and Mangold for the 2nd pick. IF we traded down, i'd also like a pick for the '07 draft. We should ensure a couple extra for next year.

Yeah, they rotate picks with teams that have the same record. So we'll have the 4th pick in the 1st round, 3rd pick in the 2nd round, 6th pick in the 3rd round.
Croyle in the 4th would be spectacular. If he's still on the board when we pick in the THIRD I'd take him in a heartbeat. That kid's gonna be good if he can stay healthy..
Denver has the 15th and 22nd overall picks now. According to my draft value chart: 4th overall pick = 1800 15th overall pick = 1050 22nd overall pick = 780 Therefore, the 4th overall pick (1800) is just about equal to the 15th overall plus the 22nd overall picks (1830)! If the Jets could trade down with Denver, then the first four picks the Jets would have would be: Day one: 15 (from Denver via Atlanta) 22 (from Denver via Redskins) 29 (from Atlanta via Denver) 35 Seems to me that pulling off a trade down like this would give the Jets about four first round (in terms of football player talent) players, and leave (if predictions are correct for 3rd and 7th round compensatory picks - shift in order for compensatory picks not included) the following picks: 68 97 (compensatory pick) 100 116 (from Kansas City Chiefs) Day two: 132 164 196 225 (compensatory pick) 12 overall picks with four picks of first round quality, three of those actually in the first round, and 8 picks on day one. If the Jets are serious about rebuilding, then I would think that this strategy makes sense. Any comments?
how bout switching the DE signing with the Tackle and getting D'Brick signing first round. Also the QB signing might not pay off as being a 1st stringer and we might save the new qb signing for next year, as i think that well still have a moderately high pick next year
