Eh I don't think they really screwed him. They paid him $17 million for three games in 2019, he opted out in 2020 and then left the team facilities himself this off-season while knowing the team made it clear they're not responsible for any injuries sustained outside of the team facilities.

Tough to feel bad for him.

Yeah...I’m curious to see if Mosley showed up.

I get that it was within his rights to opt out, and it was more unknown at that time when he had to make that call, but for me, I still think it was a bad move for him.

when you get that kind of money and miss basically the entire season, I think it would have been the right move to play....plenty of other players showed up who made much less than he did...would have been nice to see him have at least a little bit of a feeling of obligation to fucking play. I just think it was the wrong call for him to make.

so I’d love to see what his take on this voluntary thing was...did he show up and give a damn, or did he take more time off?

I don't care if only 1 player showed up and that player was the long snapper. The rules are the same for all teams. so I don't want to hear that the reason we went 4-12 this season was because not enough players showed up for voluntary workouts. Win football games! That's what Saleh is paid to do and is what'll impress me, not how many players showed up for voluntary workouts.

Maybe I'm not remembering correctly, but I THINK I remember that when Mosley opted out it was not over concern for himself, but rather a family member who had a compromised immune system or breathing issue. I may be getting him confused with someone else, however.

I just googled it, and here's what I found:

"Mosley has decided to opt out of the 2020 campaign, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport and NFL Network's Mike Garafolo reported. Mosley, whose first season with the Jets saw him play only two games due to injury, is opting out due to family health concerns. ESPN's Rich Cimini first reported the news."

    and

“Because of COVID, my family is my support system with my son. I didn’t want to risk that obviously,” Mosley said.

I couldn't find anything about his young son having a serious health condition, so I guess he was just afraid of getting it and giving it to his son.

80 guys showing up is what we get for drafting team captains who LOVE football. There was really no way of keeping them away.

    Prima Donnas need not apply!

I love CJ and hope he's back, but other than that fuck him for standing us up last season after getting paid and sitting home the season before. I get he's skered and looking out for his family, but EVERY player who did play had the exact same concerns but showed up and played anyway.

When you add this to the conversation everything changes. I did not know this until you brought it up. I was under the impression Denver released him because it would have set a bad precedent if they honored the contract. Not that it matters but I bet he was woefully out of football shape since he opted out last season only played 3 games the year before. I think he should be able to get by on the 17 mil he made in 2019.

Late to the party...love hearing that nearly the whole roster showed up. Leadership, leadership, leadership.

The story still is being written, but I love Saleh so far.

Guys 80 players showing up for voluntary work out? .. I would think if your trying to make the team.. our make a good impression with 53 spots? YOU BETTER SHOW UP... maybe star players can get away with not showing up...... if you don’t?? I’m sure NFL teams can find FAs that would gladly come in ....this is not a big surprise ... I remember Tom Brady not showing up a few years back with the pats for voluntary work out... he’s one of the few that could get away with that .... bottom line unless you have a damm good excuse Be there!!
