Took the words right out of my mouth. I would add that if Joba's shoulder is not better after Favre's press conference, then the deal is a complete waste.

I'm saying 11-5 making the superbowl by beating the pats in the afc championship game 28-27 and by favre throwing the game winning td

I think this trade compells a comparasion between the recent playoff histories of these two teams:

    JETS:
    Jan. 7, 2007 - AFC Wild Card - New England 37, N.Y. Jets 16
    Jan. 15, 2005 - AFC Divisional - Pittsburgh 20, N.Y. Jets 17 (OT)
    Jan. 8, 2005 - AFC Wild Card - N.Y. Jets 20, San Diego 17 (OT)
    Jan. 12, 2003 - AFC Divisional - Oakland 30, N.Y. Jets 10
    Jan. 4, 2003 - AFC Wild Card - N.Y. Jets 41, Indianapolis 0
    Jan. 12, 2002 - AFC Wild Card - Oakland 38, N.Y. Jets 24

    GB:
    Jan. 11, 2004 - NFC Divisional - Philadelphia 20, Green Bay 17 OT
    Jan. 4, 2004 - NFC Wild Card - Green Bay 33, Seattle 27
    Jan. 4, 2003 - NFC Wild Card - Atlanta 27, Green Bay 7
    Jan. 20, 2002 - NFC Divisional - St. Louis 45, Green Bay 17
    Jan. 13, 2002 - NFC Wild Card - Green Bay 25, San Francisco 15

Looking at recent history, Chad looks slightly better. AND he was sidelined for more of those years than Brett was. With a healthier line this year and reports of Chad being strong in camp, I am not sure this was such a great move.

    Thoughts?

Yes, because a team's playoff success depends entirely on the QB. There were absolutely NO other discrepancies between the two teams other than the QB.

    Back-up?

So who will be number 2, Erik Ainge or Kellen Clemens?

Expect a bigger, better, more determined season for Favre. He wants to get out there and show to the Packers what they really passed up on.

    Go Jets.

Of course it doesn't depend entirely. Nothing does. That goes without saying.

However, a QB is your general. And as far as generals go, CHAD led with pride, class, determination under adverse physical conditions, and a selfless passion for this organization.

Brett is a terrible fit for this city.. I don't see how this works.

CP isn't a blip on the radar compared to Favre.

You don't think Brett being 38 is a adverse physical condition? He's been in the league going on 18 years, he's earned his stripes. You don't think he plays with Pride? Class? Determination?

You have a handicap in understanding who is better for the Jets organization; A washed up QB who never really made it, or a 18 year veteran with a Super Bowl ring, more records than one can count on two hands, and who has proved himself.

I agree, jets will go 5-11 or 8-8 with favre for these reasons:

    1. our defense quite honestly isnt that great, the addition of gholston will help, but not much.

    2. Patriots and bills are still better teams, even though we might pull one out against buffalo at home

    3. We need a more solid run game, Brett is old.

Are you kidding me? The Bills fans are shitting themselves on their board. We were 4 wins better with the additions we made before Brett.

Well he will do better than last years record. Superbowl? Not going to happen. Playoffs? perhaps.

One thing this trade does is at least give the hope of something greater and something to believe in. I think that is alot more than the fans of the NYJ have has in recent years.

8-8 is what I thought we'd get with Chad stinking up the last 2 minutes of every game. I'm thinking 10 wins and a playoff berth now. What they do with that playoff berth is going to be the question.

Of course. We can expect a lot of morons like that. But seriously, Hoffman, put a little more imagination into it. Your first few posts are transparent.

I cud see us winning 12 games this year easy if every thing goes right, will we win 12 probably not.I do think we can beat New England on that thursday night game. We will win some games we shouldnt and well lose some games we shouldnt honestly it should be a 9-11 games win season, now with Brett as the #1.
