It's not unimpressive either. I mean his main assignment is to cover the flats and he does that on the majority of those plays. There's one play that he makes the wrong read and goes after the wrong receiver - that can be fixed in the film room.
That's a rather bold statement to make. Living in SC territory, I've seen a ton of games and can assure you that Griffen was occasionally used in coverage. It's not his strong suit, but he most certainly did play a percentage of downs in the LB position with his hand out of the dirt, and he most certainly did work in coverage. In fact, that was even a point brought up by USC alum and color analyst Petros Papadakis when he was interviewing Griffen last Friday. He asked about how Griffen felt about moving to the 3-4 and mentioned specific games in which he was impressed by his ability to transition into coverage. He very well could be better out of the 4-3, and a lot of people would agree with you on that point, but you're absolutely wrong that he never played in coverage. EDIT: And of course the next few posts all disprove that very point. Should have read to the end before I responded.
I guess I'd probably go with Linval Joseph or possibly McCourty after the Taylor signing and then another OLB like Witten/Cunningham/Norwood later. I might still have gone with Griffen, but probably not.
per www.fftoolbox.com 40-Yard Dash 4.71 Bench press 23 Vertical jump 36.5 Broad jump 9'06 2010 NFL Draft Prospect Scouting Report: person Lindsey Witten, DE, Connecticut Lindsey Witten was pretty much a role player for Connecticut through much of his career. However, that does not mean he was not productive. As a freshman Witten played in all 12 games and started the last six contests for the Huskies. He ended that season with 39 tackles, 6.0 tackles-for-loss and 3.5 sacks; that would be his most productive campaign until 2009. In 2007 he only totaled 23 tackles, 4.5 tackles-for-loss and two sacks. In 2008 the tackle number slipped to 19, but he did record five sacks. The Cleveland, Ohio native does possess good size at 6-5 and 260 pounds (and he keeps getting bigger and stronger). In the Big East that was good enough to simply roll over some opponents. That extra strength, combined with more of an opportunity to play and three years of experience, led to a superb senior season. Witten wrapped up the regular season with 41 tackles, 13.0 tackles-for-loss and 11.5 sacks.
That's your avatar. your sig is the link to the Tannebaum motivational poster. Also, Lindsay Witten in the 6th would be awesome.
Yeah, I meant avatar and I would obviously love to get Witten too in the 6th...I just feel like he will get picked in the 5th.
Maybe we can package Clemens and a ripe banana for a 5th rounder. It still won't be worth it but we might be able to confuse opposing GMs by letting the banana skyrocket Clemens' value.
Clemens' son was blessed by the pope, maybe we can trade him to the team Tebow gets drafted by for a 6th?
Idk who we will get but i got a chubby for a couple of prospects. 1. Eric Berry 2. Brandon Graham 3. Earl Thomas 4. Dan Williams 5. Jared Odrick There all most likely going to be gone but i would go nuts if we get either one. You never know.
