Mostly true enough. However, he did cost us one game already, and then wasted some of Mo in a laugher game. I agree Gaudin is a known commodity. The problem is, the "known" isn't good. As I showed, his numbers this year are horrid. If they honestly believe they can fix him, fine, but let's be realistic here. He was bad in Spring training, bad in Oakland, and he's been bad here again. The chances of him getting straightened out are fairly slim. I wasn't aware of that about Mitre though. Why would they do that? It doesn't make sense when Aceves is out indefinitely. He's a guy who can legitimately give you 3+ innings. Why constrain him? Especially when you have a number of guys who can fill the short role just fine. Anyway, this is pretty silly to harp on, especially after another win where most of the relievers just napped during the game. As far as last night, I didn't get to watch most of it. How did CC look? I've been reading that he didn't look really good, but toughed it out. In his last 7 games he has 4 wins, all against the Orioles. That concerns me a little. Yeah, it's still June, but like Teixeira, at some point CC has to realize it's not April anymore. Again, a win is a win, and CC pitched it, but if he's struggling, the team needs to figure out why. What I did get to see was Mo blow away Tejada. Rivera was throwing hard with movement inside. That was fun to watch.
I was at the game last night in Section 55. Yankees Stadium at Camden Yards is a beautiful place to watch a ball game. I saw Arod on the on-deck circle to start the 2nd and then they announced a substitution just as it was time to bat. In the first inning a grounder went right by him without him hardly trying to get to the ball. What is the story with Arod? I suspect some sort of injury.
