My favorite hit of that inning was Granderson's rocket against a lefty.

Not all of them. I'd say about a third, especially the afternoon games.

A-Rod's grand slam today makes him 5-5 on the season when opposing teams intentionally walk Teixeira to get to him, with 3 hrs and 18 rbis.

Moral of the story: don't piss A-Rod off.

Good series. Ugly blemish in the Jobamplosion game. Having Granderson back (and really, Nick Swisher's return seemed to help more) has really boosted the lineup.

As for the bullpen, it's bad. Chan Ho Suck is garbage. Joba can't locate the plate. Robertson is good sometimes, awful others, and now who knows what his health will be. Gaudin? I cringed yesterday when he was warming.

And it doesn't get any better in the minors. Ivan Nova smoked the first 14 batters he faced, then collapsed in on himself. Melancon got whooped. Then Igawa got hit (I know, shocker!)

Not counting the last game where he was pitching after tweaking his back, Robertson's seven previous outings were all scoreless, with 9 Ks in 8.1 IP.

Seems like he had turned a corner a bit.

And as bad as Joba has looked in the recent outings, his performance doesn't line up with his peripherals. In other words, he's been bad, but not as bad as he's seemed. (The problem isn't that he can't locate the plate. It's that when he misses, he's throwing it over the middle.)
