Sanchez was solid when it counted. He had some drops, and some bad moments, but when it counted he came through. Does that denote a franchise QB? Not yet, the stupid mistakes must be corrected, and consistency must be the norm.
This was a collection of arguments that I have seen in a number of threads. As you have nearly 800 posts, I'm going to assume that you have seen them as well. Nice counter logic though, seeing as you used it to your benefit in the very same post.
I think the big problem with Sanchez is he wont throw to a receiver unless he is wide open. He cant figure out a way to get a receiver the ball by throwing the ball away from the defender where only the receiver can get it. He usually seems so rushed and is not very good at reading the defense. These are the sort of things that separate an average QB like Sanchez from the elite QBs.. and many people are upset because Mark has regressed. Its not totally his fault. The Jets let some of their key pieces on offense go from last season like Braylon, B.Smith, T.Rich, and Woody (who might be the biggest missing piece)
Are you trying to say that he can't complete a pass to a receiver unless hes wide open, Cause from what I saw Sanchez threw into receivers with 9 people covering him plenty today.
the dude's short posting history shows him bashing sanchez in just about every single one of his posts. there are a few game thread posts in there that are worthy of the game thread miscreant thread.
Whoever thinks 180 yards 46% completion rate at 5 yards(lol) per is good for a qb is a joke. Sanchez only was good for 2 mins of the game out of 60 mins. Is that acceptable for a Nfl Qb? Just pisses me off that people are calling Mark a franchise Qb. Servicable qb fine, but franchise wtf?
Dude - if he had a decent game statistically and had lost, would that have made you happy? Does a season saving W mean anything anymore? Maybe this is the game where it all starts clicking. At least we don't have to discuss draft picks at this point.
Yes I give him the last 2 mins but you think we will beat the Giants, Eagles or a firy Dolphins team with him playing like he did today in the 1st 58 mins?
Sanchez had 4 Td's. That is where the positives end, if we are being honest. His accuracy was off again. His decision making was spotty and 2 of those TD's were to wide open wr's (literally wide open), and the only reason the 4th TD happened was because Plax caught what was a horrendous throw. Oh, and the Bills dropped like 5 int. If you think this elevated his game to superstar level, or whatever other non-sense was posted in that 1st thread, than you either did not watch the game, or you have never watched a real NFL qb play. No other explanation. Sanchez's play dictated a 1 td, 4 int game, not a 4 td, 1 int game, and today was another brutal performance masked by 4 td's.
Sanchez was awful but the scheme for our passing game is awful. We averaged 6 YPC and could go over the top with play action all day. I could live with a 50% completion percentage if we were hitting 20, 30 and 40 yard passes on play action that got our YPA up around 7 or 8. It was open all day. Nothing wrong with a low pass completion percentage if you're throwing the ball down the field. The low pass completion % coupled with the short passing game is the problem.
Who cares about stats? He led the team down the field to win the game when it was on the line. That's the guy we saw at Detroit, Cleveland and Indy last year. That will give him confidence.
I don't know why he has such a hard time looking off safeties. He is totally reliant on play action to get the safeties to move, and if they don't bite he is screwed and his deep route guys are bracketed and much more easily defended. It's his third season, this is the most troubling aspect to me. It's been a glaring weakness of his since his inception into the league. He needs to implement this into his game, these NFL secondaries are too fast and smart.
He had the same opportunity against the teams with good defenses and failed this year. Bohoo he barely beat the Bills at home christ and people calling him a franchise Qb?
Masked by 4 TDs?? Wtf! Sanchez wasn't perfect, but he made plays when he had to, and got the win. Stop bitching about menial details.
Yes, I am. He is a 3rd year QB who has struggled in an offensive scheme, has shown signs of gross mental errors, but has also shown signs of brilliance. His glimpses of brilliance speak louder than his errors. Most importantly, he not only has playoff experience but a successful record. Think about it - if a pick 6 is what keeps the Jets from winning, are the Jets really in position to take over the AFC east?
LOL at the clowns who expect him to play a perfect game...Under Brian Schottenheimer no less  Name me one QB who doesn't throw picks? Who doesn't make errors? Buncha dopes hating on Dirty
