The one problem I've had with Sanchez since he's been here is that for some strange reason, he has trouble making the easy throw. Too many times I watch him either overthrow or underthrow an open reciever. I don't question his ability to come in when it counts and do the job because ive also seen him do that. If he makes those throws early in the game we have less 3 and outs and might not have to be put in a position to have to come from behind.
So Tebow just won 5 games in a row, you rather have Tebow then Stafford? Bottom line Mark has sucked for like the last 6 games hardcore and playing like this we won't smell the playoffs. We have to win every single game from here on in with 2 teams that can beat us, do you trust pick 6 Sanchez to do that for us? We barely beat a banged up Bills team at home who lost 35-3 to Miami do you still trust pick 6 Sanchez? The offensive line played their best game of the season and Mark Sanchez still had 180 yards and a 46% completion rate, imagine when we play the Giants, and the Dolphins who will rush Sanchez every play? Do you trust pick 6 Sanchez to win us the game? I fuckn don't.
Of course it remains theoretically possible that the Jets will win out and go to the playoffs. They do have talent as a team. But I agree with your point, which is that as he is playing now, it is unlikely that the Jets will advance to the playoffs.
he didn't look great, but he did throw 4 TD's so that's a positive to look at. He also got the job done when it mattered the most. he got the win.
well in that case i guess every team ever gave us the win by not scoring so many points we couldnt overcome it.
Look, I am happy the Jets came up with that final drive. Ftr I was saying to myself this is just the kind of play from the Qb that we never saw from Pennington, so ftr I very much appreciate that about Sanchez. And it is entirely possible the O with him included is poised to go on a real tear now. The OL played great, Greene had great ypc, LT should be back and McKnight is a real option, so the run game and the dump off passes should be there, too. Add these two together, and the pressure on Sanchez should be much less, meaning he should, as in the past, perform better under such favorable circumstances. And, I would hardly predict that cannot and will not happen. But... His accuracy is still bad, and in that drive without two outstanding, I would say three since Burress's first catch for the first down was also excellent, and also that Holmes ran the route well for the TD and made the catch, there would have been no winning drive. More important is that Sanchez continues to be bothered by significant inconsistency. His ypa is bad, and for those passes that some argue were dropped must be balanced by the circus catches that went for completions. In other words, his completion percentage is still mediocre. He doesn't see the field well and continues to make stupid mistakes. He still locks on receivers far too much for my taste. What's perhaps most frustrating is that many of the passes he was missing were ones we've seen him make before. I can understand him having accuracy and timing problems if he was being constantly pressured, but he was getting very good protection, and the running game was working. Bottom line is my fear is that he succeeded here becuase Buffalo just plain does not have a good pass D. With the OL playing as it did, with the running game clicking, at home, with the playoffs on the line, against this team, and even with the four TD's, how good do I feel about Sanchez's performance? Not so much.
^I thought this same thing a few games ago. The oline started playing good and it looked like they fixed many issues, then they have 2 horrible games. Hopefully we do go on that tear, but I wouldn't stake too much in the the offensive line play against the crappy Bills. The Bills are exactly who we thought they were. Only reason the game was close was because of turnovers in our own territory. Anyway, I'm happy to see Mark have a career high game in passing TDs. It means our red zone efficiency is improving. Mark didn't have the best game with yardage and comp%, but 4 TDs is very good, regardless, and its his best QB rating in a while. Schotty is definitely partially responsible for some of Mark's woahs, but definitely not all of them. Mark just needs to clean up a few aspects of his game and he'll be fine. I still have full confidence in him and he is definitely getting better. He's already got more TDs this year than either of his last 2 seasons. Good sign for the future.
This is probably the most ignorant thing I've read in a while. Every wideout has drops and every team makes mistakes. It's not like the whole Jets team played a perfect game and had to cover for Sanchez. We mad dmb mistakes across the board and like the players said after the game, they made this too hard for themselves. This game shouldn't have even been close. But both sides of the football contributed when it mattered most, Sanchez and the O delivered the 4th quarter comeback and go ahead TD and the D kept the Bills out of the endzone for the win.
Speaking of 4 TD's and Sanchez in the same sentence... Believe it or not, but Sanchez currently ranks 3rd amongst other AFC Quarterbacks with 18 TD's. Brady's at 28 and Fitzpatrick's at 19. Sanchez also ranks 2nd in rushing TD's amongst NFL QB's, behind only Newton with 3 rushing TD's. Sanchez may have 11 INT's, but then again, Rivers has 17, Fitzpatrick has 14, Brady has 10, Roethlisberger has 10, Palmer already has 8 etc, etc. So, hopefully some of these fans stop acting as if Sanchez is the only NFL quarterback who's thrown INT's/made mistakes this season. Sanchez has 5 games to throw 12 TD's, for 30 TD's through the air this season. I think he'll pull it off, for the simple fact, he's already had 6 games this season with multiple TD's. During his first two years in the league (combined), he only threw for multiple TD's during 7 games. Regular season that is. You won't find many 3rd year QB's who've thrown for 30 TD's during a single season... Here's to Sanchez pulling it off.
Mark almost got blindsided by a horrible offensive call, a horrible specials play, and overall mediocre defense the whole game. I know the QB tends to get the blame, but that one should have been a blowout.
so he throws an interception that leads to TD. Throws for under 50% completion to a team with no pass rush and you think he had a good game. This game should have not been close but he just is not accurate with his passing.
He threw an interception on a fucking pass play that had one Receiver while in his own fucking endzone. Real good play call.
The problem with Sanchez's turnovers isn't the sheer number of them, it's the way they've happened. Too many blown pre-snap reads and too many dumb decisions with the football to make me comfortable about seeing him play a good defense right now.
