I think its weird that we can't stop 3rd and longs but we shut down those 3rd and shorts.

    Wow. You're on a roll aren't you?

Maybe you should grow up a bit before you tangle with the big boys.

I don't mind the 3rd and long blitz's. What drives me up a wall is when its 3rd and long and the QB has 10 secs in the pocket b/c we rush 3 and their completing the pass downfield for the TD.

It seems to be biting us both ways lately. But for me, I'd always rather trust my corners and d-backs and put a quicker clock on the QB to get rid of the ball.

The blitz hasnt worked on these 3rd and 15+ situations. I'd be much more comfortable sending 3 or 4 and dropping the rest back to the 1st down yardage line.

I get the feeling Rex would rather risk the first down in hope of a sack or a turnover instead of playing it safe and keeping the offense in front of you. In a 3rd and 20 a 5 yard pass with 10 yards after the catch is acceptable but I think Rex feels differently. Maybe its a pride thing.

On a few of those 3rd and longs a bunch of jets DBs were in the flats and in 5 to 10 yard deep zones. In that situation I'd prefer seeing 5 or 6 guys immediately within the first down yardage territory.
