Shonn Greene has been automatic all day how are you passing on third down. Idiotic play calling, Ryan should have stepped up and made a decision here, just disgusted over this.
I was more upset about not going for it on 4th in this situation than attempting a pass on 3rd & 1. While I would have preferred a QB sneak or a Green run, I can't kill Sparano for trying for a quick hitter. However, against a high powered offense, you can't settle for FGs in that situation. I'd rather turn it over on downs going for a TD and the lead in that situation, then kicking a FG only to still e down by 3.
Speechless That play call was so bad it left me stunned and speechless. We could have Tebow simply lean in twice and we score 7. Or put it in Greene's hands who is perfect on the season from 3rd and 1. We put it in the hands of the most inaccurate QB in the league throwing to the worst WR on our roster?!?!? Can someone please help me understand that?!? Because I cannot fathom last play call. They absolutely have to ask Rex about that. And how much of a waste is Schillens by the way? I can see why the Raiders let him go. He is a total waste of oxygen. Worthless.
sorry, i cant agree. even if you want a quick hit throw, why arent you going play action or udner center so the defense has to respect run?
For the life of me, I have NO idea how the fuck you go shotgun on 3rd and 1 from the 2, particularly when you FUCKING RAN IT DOWN THEIR FUCKING THROAT THE WHOLE WAY DOWN THE FIELD! At the very least, if you're gonna throw it, set up a play action boot to Keller. At least you stand the chance they bite on the play action. I honestly don't know what the fuck Sporano was thinking there! In my opinion, that play is the difference in this game.
The fact that it was out of the shotgun was the problem, basically gave the play away before the snap, even if the intention was to throw why not start under center and at least force the Pats to consider both threats? It was a dumb play
this upset me more than anything else that happened in the game. that call was awful, you NEED to run the ball in that situation.
WHEN are these coaches going to get it??? Kicking FG's from inside the 5 yard line is a recipe for losing in today's NFL. This isn't 19-fucking-70!!! You need to put TDs up to win in today's game. Successful 20 yard FG's = A LOSS 75% of the time. AAAaaaarrrrrrrrrGGGGHHHHH!!!!!
Before the ball was even snapped I was thinking what idiot on the Jets sidelines called this doomed play. There's so many different ways of analyzing that play & you laid out most of them ... and they all point to NOT doing a shotgun @ goal line into a slant.
The more I think about it, I am actually ok with the call so long as they also go for it on fourth down. I don't mind aggressiveness, but if you are going to do it, do it all the way. Kicking a field goal was conservative, so if you wanna play conservative, then run it on 3rd down. Hey even a bootleg with a chance to throw would have been decent.
I feel the same way, especially with Tebow in the mix. But... Other threads are bashing Sparano for playing for the FG at diff times during the game. What if Greene was stuffed, or lost a yard? At least Sparano when for the kill shot on this series.
Maybe Sporano needs a color coded play sheet so he knows when to use tebow, when to run , and when to pass
THIS! Tebow was a scoring machine from inside the 5 in the SEC, and we STILL don't use him in that situation? Insane.
